DIRECTIONS TO BURWALLS TRAIN If you are coming by train to Temple Meads Station the alternative to a taxi is to catch a City Line No 8 bus from Temple Meads Station to Christchurch Green and the walk ¼ mile across the Clifton Suspension Bridge. To return to Temple Meads Station take the No 9 bus from Clifton (approx. every 10 minutes during the day). Valley Travel No 508 or 509 operate early mornings, weekdays and Saturdays until 7am and then again from 1915 onwards (every 15 minutes between 1901 and 2200; every 30 minutes between 2245 and 2315). On Sundays No 508 and 509 operate all day (every 20 minutes between 0930 and 2220; every 15 minutes between 2220 and 2315). CAR 1. From the North and Wales (M4/M5) leave the M5 at Junction 17. Take the A4018 and follow the signs for the City Centre. After crossing a large, flat area of grassland (The Downs), follow the signs for the South West, Clifton and Zoo. Take the second left after the Zoo (signposted for the Suspension Bridge) then take the first right. Take the next right and once across the bridge (50p toll – no 5 pence pieces), Burwalls (a large red brick building) is situated immediately on your left. 2. Travelling from London and East via the M4, follow the signs for the M5 south and leave at Junction 17. Then follow the instructions as in 1 above. 3. Arriving from the South West (M5) leave the motorway at Junction 19 and take the A369 to Bristol. As you get closer to Bristol follow the signs for the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Burwalls is situated on the right hand side immediately before the Suspension Bridge. 4. From Bath and the South (A4) cross the river and pass Temple Meads Station on your right. Follow the signs for the City Centre. Once at the City Centre follow the signs for Clifton. This will take you up Park Street with the University’s Wills Tower at the top of the hill. Follow the one-way system and the signs for the Zoo and Clifton Suspension Bridge. Once over the bridge (50 pence toll), Burwalls, a large red brick building, is situated immediately after the Bridge on the left hand side.
