How do I CONNECT TO THE JCCMI DOMAIN?
Connecting to the domain is the same on the laptops as it is on computers found in the labs. Use your 771 and password in the appropriate boxes to log in to the JCCMI domain. After appearing at the main login screen, it may take a few moments for your notebook to receive, recognize, and access the domain through the wireless network. If you try to log in before the computer has connected to the wireless network, you will receive an error message. This message is merely telling you that that notebook has not yet connected to the wireless network. Wait a few moments, and then try logging in again. It should not take longer than a few minutes to connect to the wireless network. If the computer has not connected after repeated attempts to login, contact the consultant on duty.

I was working on a file and LEFT MY COMPUTER UNATTENDED for a while. When I returned, my computer was off! Help!
Most notebooks, since they run off of battery power, come with a Standby Mode feature, which allows the notebook to conserve battery power. This is also known as Sleep Mode. If you have left your notebook unattended for a certain amount of time, you may return to find it “sleeping”. You can tell if a notebook is sleeping by checking to see if the Power button is flashing. If it is, your computer is in Standby Mode. To “wake up” the notebook, just press the Power button once.
