Step-by-Step Application Instructions for Digital Preservation Internships Step 1: Log in to your iTrack account at the following url: http://www.si.umich.edu/careers/students.htm Step 2: Click on iTrack Job Search on the home page Step 3: Search for the type of internship you are interested in If you’re applying for a summer internship, type 708803 in the keywords box If you’re applying for a term internship, type 709145 in the keywords box
Step 4: Scroll down and click on the internship posting Step 5: Download the application form You can do this directly from the internship posting on iTrack You can also download the form from our website: http://www.si.umich.edu/PreservationInterns/summer.htm Step 6: Complete the application form and save it as your last name_Dig_Pres_Internships_Appform.doc Step 7: Upload your resume (if not already there) and completed application form to iTrack In iTrack, click on the “Documents” tab at the top of the screen If you don’t already have a resume uploaded, click “add new” o The next screen will allow you to type in a label (i.e. resume), keep resume selected, and upload the document. Add your application form by clicking “add new” o In the next screen, type in an appropriate label (i.e. application form), select “other document” (this is really important because if you don’t do this step you won’t be able to see your application form when you want to submit it), browse for your application form and upload it Your documents will be pending approval at this point. Usually the approval process is brief. If you find you are waiting too long, contact me (mghetu@umich.edu) and I’ll try to speed things along. Step 8: Submit your application materials Go back to the internship posting you want to apply to (see steps 3 and 4) Select your resume and check the “Other Documents” box that should have the label you applied to your application form. Click “submit” and you’re all set – Good luck!
