Information for Applicants


A Migration Agent who is registered with the Migration Agents
Registration Authority (the MARA) can apply to the Registrar of the
New Zealand Immigration Advisers Authority (the Registrar) for
registration under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (TTMR Act).
The TTMR Act provides for mutual recognition of equivalent registered
occupations and a streamlined registration process, providing the
requirements are met.

A MARA registered migration agent seeking registration in New Zealand
must give notice in writing to the Registrar and provide the information
prescribed by Section 19(2) of the TTMR Act.

                 One of the Authority’s functions is to facilitate the education and professional development of immigration
                 advisers. In order to plan an education programme, the Authority needs to know more about the employment
                 status and educational background of licensed advisers. This information is not used to determine your
                 application under the TTMR Act.
