HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT – ASSESSMENT TOOL

This assessment tool is based directly on the HLTA competencies from the TTA website.

These are the competencies which candidates will be assessed against to gain HLTA status. Completion of this assessment
tool is a joint exercise between the candidate and their line manager. It will help identify whether the candidate should
apply for the full training rate or assessment only.

The assessment tool will also help identify areas for professional development which can begin well before the HLTA training
programme. This could be through reading, observation, work shadowing or any other appropriate activity.

Please return your completed assessment tool with your application form when you are applying for LEA funding for HLTA
training.

Please return your completed assessment tool with your completed application to:

Castleton Street, Bolton BL2 2JW by 24 May 2005 or you can do this by e-mail to trainingunit@bolton.gov.uk
