							Things to consider before Hijama:

  1) Ensure you advise the practitioner who will be doing the
cupping, of your full medical history, as outlined in the
previous form which you need to fill in and bring to the
     cupping session.
  2) If you are going to have it done on your head or other hairy
body parts e.g. legs/chest area, it is advisable to shave these
areas prior to having the procedure. This prevents the
possibility of the cups not holding onto to the relevant area.
  3) You MUST fast for at least 3 hours before the procedure,
and ideally have it done in the morning. So that means No
food/drink until the procedure is completed.

After Hijaama things to do:

 Thank Allah for this mercy
 Have a shower (Eat after showering not before)
 Drink plenty of fresh fruit juice
 Rest/sleep – you will feel very sleepy after the procedure
 If coming by car get someone to come with you and drive

Things NOT to do after hijaama:

  • Have milk products, salt, dark fizzy drinks for 48 hours
  • Drink tea and coffee for 24 hours
  • No Marital relations for 24 hours

These are advised, as you will need the energy for new blood cells
to grow and certain food/drinks disturb this process.

Points to Consider:

 It may take several cupping sessions before any benefit is
seen for certain ailments, however it is shown that pain relief
    is almost instant.
 Nothing is the same for everyone and each person will be
    assessed and advised accordingly.
 Actions are but by intention, so intend to have Hijama to
follow the Sunnah and Islamic Sharia.
