How to use the R M Phillips Collection online
You can view the digitised albums either by clicking a link to a volume on the right of the Phillips main page, or by searching the online catalogue (there is a link to the catalogue on every page of our website). In the catalogue, enter a search term and enter POST 141 (the archive POST class for the Phillips Collection) into the finding number box. This will limit your search to the Phillips Collection. Please note: these images have been optimised for use with the Mozilla Firefox web browser, although Internet Explorer will also work perfectly well. Firefox offers a better zoom feature which enhances your enjoyment of the Phillips Collection (you can download Mozilla Firefox for FREE, a link is provided on the main R M Phillips Collection page). Please note that even higher resolution images are available on the computers in our Search Room.
Using the volume list on the R M Phillips Collection page
1. Click on a volume link at the right hand side of the Phillips main page (www.postalheritage.org.uk/phillips ) to see a contents list of the pages in that volume (or go to full list of volume titles).
2. Click on the 'page title' for the page you require. Once the image page appears, you can click on the image to open a full-sized version.
3. Once you have finished looking at the full-sized image, use the Back button to return to the main image page. If you wish to see the catalogue entry for that Phillips page, there is a link below the image.
4. To navigate around the volume you can use the numbered links at the top of each image page to jump forward a few pages, or use the Back button return to the volume contents to select another page. Alternatively, return to the volume contents page using the 'breadcrumb' links in the grey bar at the top of every page.
