DACE students who are doing credited courses (4 credits and above) are offered a Glasgow University ID card. The card allows access to the University library, language centre, sports facilities and computing facilities including access to Moodle. The card contains a unique student number, which forms part of the Moodle username. Please contact the DACE Information Centre on 0141 330 1835 or email dacequery@educ.gla.ac.uk if you do not have an ID card. You need an ID card to access Moodle. When you have collected your ID card, you need to change the default dateof-birth password (yymmdd) otherwise the password will expire after 6 grace logins. A step-by-step guide to accessing Moodle is available below. If you want to use your personal email address you can set up your student email account to have email messages, sent to your student email address, to be automatically forwarded to another email address. Go to: www.iteu.gla.ac.uk/students/email/WebMail/settings.html. To summarise: Get ID card Change password Login to Moodle Enter enrolment key Your tutor should inform you if a Moodle site has been set up for your course(s). Please check with him / her first. How to access Moodle: 1 2 3 Have your ID card handy Check for your unique 7 digit number e.g. 0512345 Change your password from the default: YYMMDD (year, month, day) For example if the student above had DOB 9th August 1961 they would type 610809 when prompted for their password. You should change your password once logged in – the university system will only allow a limited number of logins with the default, DOB password. Passwords can be changed from the webmail page http://webmail.student.gla.ac.uk Go to Faculty Moodle at http://moodle.gla.ac.uk/education/moodle/ Check right hand of page where it asks for ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’ Your user name is your student number plus the first letter of your surname. So if your name is Donald Duck it will be 0512345d The password is the one you have just changed it to Once you have logged in successfully you can select the course you want to participate in, probably from among those listed under ‘DACE’. Remember to use the "enrolment key" your tutor gives you.
