Trident Technical College
general requirements:
 Complete and turn application with $25
  application fee.
 Submit a final high school transcript with
  graduation date, a copy of your diploma, or
  GED. If you have not graduated from high
  school yet, please submit after graduation.
 Provide qualifying test scores: SAT- 480
  verbal & 440 math, ACT 19 English & 18
  math or TTC’s placement test.
TTC Requirements for
International Students
J-1 Visa
• The general requirements
   for TTC admissions has
   to be met.
• Copy of students visa and
   DS-2019
• If student has taken the
   TOEFL, the score must be
   at least 500 on the paper
   base or 173 on computer
   base.
F-1 Visa
• The general requirements for TTC admissions must be
    met.
•   A copy of the students visa and a copy of the I-20, if the
    student has one.
•   If student has taken the TOEFL, the score must be at least
    500 on the paper base or 173 on computer base.
•   A notarized Affidavit of Financial Support is required and
    must be completed by the sponsor.
•   A notarized bank statement must also be provided from
    your sponsor showing sufficient funds to study in the US.
    The annual expense for an F-1 student is $18,000.00.
F-1 Visa cont.

• A tuition deposit in the
  amount of $5,586.00
  (money order or certified
  check) is required.
• An I-20 will be issued to
  the student once all
  official qualifying
  documents have been
  received.
• If the student is applying
  for an F-1 visa, they must
  pay the $100 SEVIS fee.
Other Visas:

• The general requirements
  for TTC admissions must
  be met.
• If student has taken the
  TOEFL, the score must be
  at least 500 on the paper
  base or 173 on computer
  base.
• A copy of the student’s
  visa
• The age limit for a
  dependent visa is 21 years
  old.
Permanent Resident
• The general requirements for TTC
  admissions must be met.
• If student has taken the TOEFL, the score
  must be at least 500 on the paper base or
  173 on computer base.
• A copy of the students Permanent Resident
  card or if the student has applied for
  permanent resident, a copy of the pending
  letter from immigration.
Visas that cannot engage in
study:
                 • B-2 visitor visa
                 • WB, WT visa waiver for
                   tourism
                 • C-1, C-2, & C-3
                 • D-1& D-2
                 • If any one holding these
                   types of visas have applied
                   for a different visa or
                   permanent residents, if
                   they supply the letter from
                   immigration showing the
                   application is pending,
                   they may enroll at TTC.
Residency
    Visas that may qualify
    for in-state or tri-county
    tuition:
•   H-1 Temporary
    Professional Workers
•   H-2 Temporary
    Agricultural Workers
•   H-3 Trainees
•   H-4 Dependents of H-1,
    H-2 & H-3
•   L-1 Intra-company
    transfer
•   L-2 Dependents of L-1
    visa holders
Undocumented Immigrants
 Trident Technical College does not accept
  undocumented students.
 TTC follows the policies and procedures of the
  South Carolina State Board for Technical and
  Comprehensive Education and Department of
  Homeland Security.
 According to the SBTCE, “A college’s “Open
  Door” admission policy does not apply to
  international students” (3-2-102.1)
 All international students are required to have a
  qualified visa and other related documentation
  required by the Department of Homeland Security
  to attend TTC.
Undocumented Immigrants cont.
                “The college can deny
                 admission to any
                 international applicant
                 whenever such action
                 appears to be in the
                 best interest of the
                 college” (3-2-102.1).
