					Program:  Ohio Summer Honors Institutes (free tuition for eligible 9th and 10th
grade students)
The Ohio Summer Honors Institutes are summer programs (typically week-
long programs), which provide students with the opportunity to explore
exciting high-interest topics and career fields as well as to interact with
their peers.  

During the programs students engage in the in-depth study in topics of
interest.  Examples of topics include: life as a lawyer, film studies, behind
the scenes of broadcast news, forensics, medicine, ethics and the
healthcare system, business innovation, environmental studies, ancient
weaponry and warfare, computer programming, pharmacy, engineering
photography, robotics, and creative writing. 
 
The Summer Honors Institutes are held at various universities around
Ohio. Tuition is free for eligible students (room and board typically needs to
be paid).  Eligibility includes: residing in Ohio, currently being in the 9th or 10th
grade, and being identified as gifted in any recognized area (note: some Institutes may
have other specific qualifications).

Program: Miami University Juniors Scholars Program: Oxford, Ohio
This program provides students with the opportunity to take college-level courses
at Miami University.  Students can choose courses from a variety of subject
areas.  Students may be able to gain admission into the university through their
performance in these courses.  This program is for current 11th grade students.

Program:  Sleuths Summer Science Program at Ohio Wesleyan University:
Delaware, Ohio
The Sleuths Summer Science Program is a one-week summer residential
camp for students interested in the sciences: biology, chemistry, geology,
physics, and mathematics.  Students have the opportunity to interact with
professors, to participate in hands-on scientific activities and to learn about
career fields in science.  This summer program is for rising high school
juniors and seniors.

Program: Ohio Business Week:  Columbus, Ohio and Youngstown, Ohio
This is a week long program in which students are provided with hands-on
experience in the field of business and entrepreneurship.  This program is
designed for current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade students.

Junior Statesmen Program: Columbus, Ohio
The Ohio Symposium on Leadership and Politics is part of the Junior
Statesmen Summer Programs.  These programs are designed for high
school students interested in taking a behind-the-scenes look at leadership
and politics in state or local government.

Program: Ohio Leadership Institute:  Summer Leadership Training Camp: 
           
This program provides students with the opportunity to build, enhance, and
expand their leadership skills.  Students have the opportunity to listen to
motivational speakers and to participate in hands-on leadership building
activities.

Program:  National Computer Camps:  The camps at various locations
including Notre Dame College in Cleveland._This program provides
students with excellent opportunities to learn about various areas in the
field of computer technology.  Courses are available in video game design,
digital video production, webpage design, computer languages, software
applications, preparation for the network + certification exam, and

Program:  Equinox Program:  Case Western Reserve University_This is a
three-week program for academically talented students held in partnership
with Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development.  2008
Courses:  Computer Game Design, Engineering, Genetics &
Biotechnology, International Relations, Journalism, Philosophy,

Program: Cornell University Summer College Program:  Ithaca, New York
This program provides students with the opportunity to take college-level
academic courses in various fields (i.e. architecture, business,
medicine…).

Program: Gettysburg College Experiential Summer Academic Camps: 
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
This program offers two sessions for students to explore subject areas 
such as: creative writing, the Civil War, astronomy, service and leadership,
Spanish language and culture, psychology, and college preparation and
preview.

Program: Academy by the Sea/Camp Pacific:  Southern California
Description:  The five-week Academy by the Sea program offers courses
that can be taken for remedial credit or enrichment.  This is a co-ed
Program held on a residential campus.  This program also offers one-week
Surf Camps and a three-week Recreational Camp.
