II.      DO I NEED A LAWYER?


If you do not use an agency to assist you with the adoption process you will need a lawyer that is
experienced in adoption procedures. There is no legal requirement that you must have a lawyer
to adopt a child, however preparation of the necessary legal paperwork can be complex.


III.     HOW DO I FIND A REPUTABLE LAWYER?


         If you have decided to retain a lawyer, you will want to find a firm and lawyer with
plenty of experience and a great track record. Make sure that you find a lawyer that specializes
in adoptions. The legal field is vast, and a lawyer needs to be specialized in a particular field.
