Communications Intern (1-2 days per week for 3 months)

Redfront is recruiting a small team of interns, hosted by leading arts organisations in
Dorset, to develop an exciting joint communications campaign for the arts across the

The task is to help facilitate two-way learning between interns and arts organisations
working in partnership to promote the arts. You will learn valuable skills in key aspects
of communications and working in partnership. In return you will help build offline and
online communities of audiences and arts professionals helping promote the wealth and
quality of arts activities across Dorset.

Role Description

The Communications Intern opportunity is for an arts graduate or equivalent to
enhance social networking and new media skills, creating a community of interest
working as a member of a team helping deliver the DORSET LOVES ARTS
communications strategy

   • Practical knowledge of social networking and good web skills
   • An interest in working in the arts/creative industries
   • An interest in developing skills around marketing and promotion

   • An interest in taking the initiative to develop new projects
   • Ability to write enthusiastic and informative copy for online audiences
   • Educated to graduate level or equivalent

The opportunity will suit someone who can make a continuous part time commitment
over 6 months (February - July 2010).
Appointed interns will receive expenses and discounts/free entry to any ticketed
events/activities run by host arts organisations
