How to write a review
Film reviews are important because they help people to decide which films to see. They also help filmmakers learn what their audiences like and don't like. Your review might appear here on Film Street where millions of people can read it. We want Film Street to become the best film website in the world so your reviews should be: • Well written - make sure your work is not full of spelling mistakes: use a dictionary or ask an adult to check your work - write in sentences, beginning with a capital letter and ending with a full stop - names of films and characters should begin with a capital letter - check that your work makes sense and you haven't left any words out • Exciting • Interesting - use lots of adjectives to describe the film - give reasons for your opinions
Tell your readers whether the film is an animation or live action, and what genre of film it is. Things to think about: • What did you think of the story? (Don't give away the ending!) • When and where is the story set? • How are costumes, camera angles, lighting, sound, music and special effects used in the film? • What are the characters like? Who do you think is important? • Why do you think someone should watch this film....or not? This is your recommendation. Finish by giving your film a mark out of ten.
