Terms of Reference for the Disabled Staff Network - The University of Nottingham The Disabled Staff Network exists for those staff at the University who consider themselves to be disabled, or who have a long-term medical condition. The network is run by and for disabled staff, and is supported by the Staff Equality and Diversity Advisory Group and, where appropriate, Human Resources. The network is not required to have a formal constitution, but there will be at all times an individual nominated by the network to act as a point of contact with the University. This individual will be invited to attend the Staff Equality and Diversity Advisory Group (SEDAG) to represent the views of the network. The network may meet as frequently as desired by the members, but it is suggested that this is at least once a term. The purpose of the network is to: 1. Act as a forum for debate and networking for University of Nottingham employees who are disabled and/or have a long-term medical condition. 2. Act as a mechanism for communication with the University through formal representation at SEDAG and via relevant University committees and Human Resources. 3. Provide a source of information and support relating to existing processes and mechanisms by which individuals issues can be raised through the formal line management systems. 4. Act as a mechanism for consultation on workplace issues by the University formally channelled through SEDAG.
