How to Use Bloglines to Subscribe to Classmates’ Blogs Using the Easy Subscribe Bookmarklet If you have your own computer, click on the link on the left “Extras” section labeled “Easy Subscribe Bookmarklet.” Follow the directions based on the browser you use (I prefer Firefox, in case you were wondering) to install a Subscribe with Bloglines bookmark. (Notice below how I have placed this bookmark “Sub with Bloglines” on my toolbars. When you come to a page that you want to subscribe to, simply click on the bookmark and follow the directions for subscribing. (Described below)

Without the Bookmarklet If you want to (or have to) subscribe to feeds without using the bookmarklet, open your bloglines account in a separate window or tab and click on the “My Feeds” tab in the left column > then choose “Add.” You should get the window below. Cut and paste or manually type in the URL for the blog into the “Blog or Feed URL.” For example, if you wanted to subscribe to my blog, you would insert http://joefreidhoff.edublogs.org into the text box. Then click the “Subscribe” button.

You should get a new screen that shows you all available feeds for the site. This screen is the same no matter if you use the Bookmarklet or the add feature. Check the box “Subscribe to This Feed” that is next to feed you want to subscribe to. Sometimes there is more than one (For example an rss feed and an atom feed.) I usually choose the top one (which is rss not atom). In the drop-down box under Options > Folder, click on the arrow and select the folder you want to place it into. Then click on “Subscribe.” (Not visible on this screen shot.)
