About the Job

Administrator (Separating Parents)
This post has been developed as part of a partnership project, led by Relate Leeds,
to provide support to parents and their families who are going through separation.
The project will be working in Gipton, Harehills and Richmond Hill, working with a
range of organisations including Relate Leeds, Shantona Women’s Centre, Leeds
Counselling, Children’s Centres and other services supporting parents and families.

The post will be linked to Leeds CAB’s Children’s Centres Advice Service which is
delivering advice sessions in over 30 centres across Leeds and will provide
administrative support to the Separating Parents project which delivers advice
sessions in community settings accessible to the targeted client group including
Children’s Centres.

The service will offer generalist advice to clients and it is anticipated that the majority
of enquiries will be about Benefits and Debt issues, in line with our other outreach

Outreach Services
Leeds CAB runs an extensive range of outreach services which we consider
essential to our aim of making advice accessible to those in greatest need. All of our
outreach services provide generalist advice and in 2009/10 we are delivering the
following outreach services across the Leeds Metropolitan District.

Mental Health Outreach Advice Service

   The Mental Health Outreach Advice Service provides advice sessions for mental
    health service users and carers in hospital and community venues across Leeds.

GP Practice Outreach Advice Service

   The GP Practice Outreach Advice Service provides generalist advice sessions in
    GP Practices in East, West and South Leeds.

Children’s Centres Advice Service

   The Children’s Centres Advice Service provides advice sessions for carers of
    children under five and for pregnant women and their partners.
   Leeds CAB works in partnership with two other advice agencies to deliver this
    service in 30 Children’s Centres city wide, offering a joint telephone referral
    service and training for Children’s Centres staff.
Asian Women’s Outreach Service

   The Asian Women’s Outreach Advice Service delivers advice sessions to Asian
    women in community settings in East and South Leeds.

Home Visits Advice Service

   The Home Visits Advice Service provides advice for people who are housebound.
