AN OVERVIEW OF POWERSCHOOL PARENT ACCESS

PowerSchool Parent Access gives parents, guardians, and students access to PowerSchool so that they
can view grades, attendance, and other school information. A unique username and password secures
access for each user.

There are three pieces of information you must have before you can logon PowerSchool:

    1. Internet Access and Web Browser: PowerSchool is a web-based system. All you need is
access to the Internet and a web browser (e.g., Microsoft Internet Explorer). PowerSchool is
accessible from the St. Isabella website at www.stisabellaschool.org. The PowerSchool link is
located in the left-hand navigation bar (at the very bottom).

    2. Username: Each student and his parent/guardian are assigned a username by the Computer
Education teacher (Mrs. Wall). It is issued (via a sealed envelope) to each student during a
training session. The student is responsible for communicating the username to his
       parent/guardian.

    3. Password: Like the username, the password is issued to the student.

NOTE: If a family has two or more students attending St. Isabella, they will receive TWO usernames
and passwords. For example, if a family has a student in the 5th grade and another one in the 7th
grade, each student is assigned their own username and password.

GRADES AND ATTENDANCE SCREEN: A DESCRIPTION

The Grades and Attendance screen displays 2 weeks of attendance information, grade averages, and
attendance totals.

Conduct and Effort Grades

Conduct and Effort grades on the Archdiocean Report Cards are numerical, but Power School does not
allow numerical values as grades. Therefore you will see a letter rather than the usual 1,2,3 or 4 when
you look at your student's conduct or effort grade.

Here is the equivalent code:

O or OU (outstanding) = 1

M (Middle or Medium) = 2;

I (Improvement Needed) = 3

U (Unsatisfactory) = 4.

Class Score Detail Screen (not pictured)

If you click on a grade, the Class Score Details screen appears. If the teacher has entered individual
assignment grades into PowerSchool, these scores will be visible in the detail view.

NOTE: If an assignment score is blank, check the due date. Teachers may post assignments prior to their
actual due date. Assignment grades that have been partially entered may result in lowered overall scores
until all assignment grades have been entered.
