How To Write
An AR Test
1. Open the AR5 2000 folder
2. Open the Accelerated Reader® Management application
3. This window will appear:
4. Now type in the password: ( A _ _ _ _ )
5. Now open SCHOOL and click on Quizzes
6. Click on ADD
7. Select the first number at the top of the list:
8. This window will appear:
9. You may now compose 5, 10, or 15 QUESTIONS.
10. You will need to enter the following information:
This is the GRADE Level: ie 3.5 grade reading level – this is often found on the back of
the book
The Word Count can be calculated by estimating how many words are on one page, then
multiply that number by the number of pages.
Now decide upon the number of questions: 5, 10, or 15
Now CLICK OK button so you can begin to enter your questions and answers.
11. Your final card will look something like this:
12. Click OK.
13. Now Enter your questions and each question will look like this:
14. Click OK when done entering answers.

Procedures
When you are finished you need to close the AR program properly.
This is a very important step. If you do not go through these steps you end up
monopolizing the management of the program. This means that anyone who goes to
write a test or edit student records will be locked out of the program.
1. Go to FILE in the menu
2. Select Log out
3. Go to FILE in the menu
4. Select Quit
5. You have now successfully Logged Out and Quit!
