Extra points (only given if your anthology has met all of the requirements above the line):
          ---Alternative forms and their definitions (haiku, ghazal, ottava rima, dipodic verse, stichic verse)
             and their definitions (this will yield the most extra credit).
          ---Biographical information on poets in your anthology (maximum 2 pages)
          ---A friend's original poem or a friend’s reaction to one of your original poems.
          ---Making your anthology a work of art will also garner you extra points.
          ---Thematic anthology (students have chosen to build their anthologies around particular themes such as war,
          civil rights, etc) This is an option for those who have a passion for a particular poet.
          ----A section of writings from a particular poet. You may include a section on your favorite poet .
         All poems must be bound in some fashion (loose leaf binder, etc). You should design some
         sort of cover with your name and period prominently displayed. You should also give your
         anthology a title. Feel free to be creative! If you have an idea I haven’t mentioned, talk to
         me!
                                        Guidelines


1.   Please do not use Mrs. Tully’s curriculum. You must search outside of the realm of what is taught
     at University High School. You should not include poems that we’ve studied in class or works
     that Mrs. Tully’s students have studied.

2.   You may use your sonnet that you explicated in class.

3.   Please take this assignment seriously . Choose poetry you love!

4.   You may not use song lyrics, period.

5.   Create a title for your anthology. Put your name on the cover.

6.   You may want to make your anthology as a gift to someone. That someone could be YOU!

7.   Develop your taste in poetry. Read widely. Ask for suggestions and help.

8.   CITE CAREFULLY!!!!!!
