PERSONAL LOAN & CREDIT CARD APPLICATION SYSTEM EXTERNAL USER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. What is the Personal Loan & Credit Card Application System? A: The Personal Loan and Credit Card Application System is a web-based electronic application system that facilitates the processing of Personal Loans (JMD only) and Credit Cards (both local and foreign currency) via the NCB website. 2. What is the purpose of the Personal Loan & Credit Card Application System? A: The system facilitates the submission of Personal loans and Credit Card applications electronically via the NCB Website thus providing convenience as you can access the system at your own leisure from the comfort of your home or office. 3. How can I access the Personal Loan & Credit Card Application System? A: To access the system, visit the NCB website (www.jncb.com) and select the option “Apply online for a Personal Loan” and/or “Apply online for a NCB Credit Card” under the “Quick Links” option. A user name and password is required to gain access to the system. Your user name and password are created during the customer profile creation process and this must be completed by first time users prior to gaining access to the system. 4. Can I apply for Personal Loans denominated in Foreign Currency using this System? A: No. The system does not facilitate the processing of Personal Loans denominated in foreign currency at this time These applications are to be initiated by visiting any of our Branches islandwide. 5. What type of applications can I submit via the system? A: You may submit the following: Personal Loan Personal Credit Card(s) Personal Loan and Credit Card(s) simultaneously. 6. Can Business Loans be processed using the Personal Loan & Credit Card Application System? A: No. The system does not facilitate the processing of Business Loans at this time. These applications are to be initiated by visiting any of our Branches islandwide. 7. Is the system available to existing NCB customers only? A: No. The System may be accessed by both existing and prospective NCB Customers. 8. Am I restricted to having my credit application(s) submitted to my home Branch via the system for processing? A: No, you are not restricted to your home branch when submitting a credit request online. You may choose any NCB branch to have your application processed. 9. How will I know the status of my application? A: When your application has been completed online and submitted to your branch of choice, you will receive a response instantaneously indicating whether your application has been ‘Conditionally Approved’ or ‘Conditionally Declined’. When a ‘Conditionally Approved’ response is given, it indicates that a Credit Officer from your selected Branch will contact you within 2 business days to set up an interview. However, if a ‘Conditionally Declined’ response is given, it indicates that you may contact a Credit Officer from your selected Branch for further details. 10. What is meant by ‘Conditionally Approved’ and ‘Conditionally Declined’? A: A ‘Conditionally Approved’ status means that based on the information provided, your application is approved subject to perusal of substantiating documentation by the Branch. A ‘Conditionally Approved’ response is automatically generated by the system once your application receives an acceptable credit score. A ‘Conditionally Declined’ status means that based on the information provided, your application has not met our minimum qualifying criteria. A ‘Conditionally Declined’ response is automatically generated by the system once the application does not receive an acceptable credit score. 11. Am I still required to undergo an interview once the application has been submitted via the website? A: Yes. An interview is required once you have received a Conditional decision for assessment purposes in order to facilitate providing a final decision on your application. A Credit Officer from your selected branch will contact you to set up an interview. 12. Will I be required to provide the Bank with the usual documentation? A: Yes, you are required to take in the necessary documentation to substantiate your information provided and complete the credit application process. 13. When applying for subsequent loans and/or credit cards in the system, will I be required to provide my demographic and financial information each time? A: No. The system stores all applications submitted. As a result, after your initial application has been submitted, all subsequent application created will be automatically populated with the information contained in your most recently submitted application. Therefore, you’re only required to review the automatically populated information and make the necessary modifications where applicable. 14. How many applications can I submit at any given time? A: You may apply for one loan product and multiple credit card products at any given time. However, you can have only one pending loan application at any given time. Therefore, you will not be able to apply for a second loan in the system until a final decision has been made on the prior loan application. However, you may have multiple credit card applications pending in the system at any given time. 15. If I wish to make an amendment to an application that was previously submitted in the system, can the amended application be resubmitted? A: Yes, you can resubmit the application for scoring. However, you are restricted to two submission attempts per application. Therefore, after initial application submission, you have one more chance to make changes and resubmit the application for scoring. 16. Can I request a loan or credit card jointly with another individual? A: Yes, you may do so by clicking the ‘Multiple Applicant’ check box, which will enable the related Co-applicant fields in the system. 17. What does the red asterisk beside respective fields represent? A: The fields that have a red asterisk (*) beside them represent mandatory fields that must be completed in order to successfully submit the application in the system. 18. If I have never been employed prior to my present job, what do I place in the “Previous Employment” section of the application? A: Under the section “Previous Employment” select one of the following options from the drop down list provided in the Employment status field: • Unemployed • Student • Retired Selecting any of these 3 options will make the subsequent fields non-mandatory, thus allowing you to proceed to the next section. 19. How can I access previously submitted applications in the system? A: You can access all your previously submitted application(s) in the system under the “Your Applications” section of the Home Page by clicking on the respective application number. This feature also facilitates real time tracking of the status of an application. 20. In the event that I am unable to complete the application in one sitting, will I have to start over the application process? A: No. The system has a ‘save’ feature which allows you to save the application in the event you’re unable to complete it in one sitting. When you re- enter the system later, a message pops-up giving you the option to continue completing your saved application or discard it and start anew. 21. How long will it take before I receive a ‘Conditional’ response? A: A ‘Conditional’ response is received instantaneously after clicking the ‘submit’ button . When you click the ‘submit button’ the system automatically saves and scores the application. At this point, a ‘unique ‘number is also assigned to the application. You may use this number as a reference to enquire on your application in the future.
