A: Yes, the option to share the voice minutes is available AND the shared plan can add a Mobile Web plan. Q: Can I set up more than one Outlook account? A: No. There can only be one Outlook account on your smartphone at a time. Q: Can I right click on my Treo? A: Yes, just hold the Stylus for two seconds and an options menu will appear. Q: What size storage card can the Treo hold? A: The largest size storage card that is supported is 2 gigabytes (any storage cards larger may have issues). . Q: Does beaming a file count against data usage? A: No, so you are able to share many files with another user. Q: Can I track my usage on my phone? A: Yes you can keep track of the usage on your phone. There is a website that you can login and check the usage. You can also track your minutes by checking your call log. Q: How much memory does the Treo have? A: The Window Mobile has 57.48 MB of memory. Q: Can I name my Treo? A: Instead of your Treo coming up as “Treo” when trying to Beam, Bluetooth or hook up your PC to it, you can add your own name for easier recognition. Click on Start Menu and select settings, Choose the System tab and the “About” icon, Tap the Device ID tab, and Name your device in the “Device Name” box, Click OK and now you can recognize your Treo. Q: How do I use the vibrate mode of my Treo? A: On the top of your smartphone there is a switch, move the switch over to the speaker w/ the line through it. Turns the sound off and it will vibrate. Q: How do I align my touch screen? A: Occasionally, the touch screen may need to be aligned. If this occurs, you may see the wrong feature being activated when you tap the screen. On the Today screen select Start, Select Settings, On the System tab select the Screen icon, Select the Align Screen button and follow the onscreen instructions. Q: What does the lightning bolt over (or near) the battery indicator mean? A: The lightning bolt means your handheld's battery is charging. When it is fully charged, the lightning bolt will change to a filled battery icon. Another way to tell if your handheld is charging is to notice the light (LED indicator) on the device. If it's blinking, your handheld is charging. If it's steady, your handheld is done charging. For former owners of Palm handhelds, you may notice that this is the opposite of what you're used to. Note: Silent alarms (flashing LED) look similar to charging but will not activate while the handheld is indicating the charge state. Q: Why does my music stop playing when the screen turns off after one minute? A: This can happen when a Bluetooth wireless telephony headset (mono) is both paired with the smartphone, and it is on and within range. Turn off the Bluetooth headset while you are listening to music

in Windows Media Player on your smartphone. When you're done listening to music, be sure to turn Bluetooth wireless features back on
Note: The Treo 700w smartphone does not support Bluetooth wireless connections with A2DP devices, such as stereo headsets. You cannot listen to MP3 or other music files through a Bluetooth wireless headset. The information below pertains to mono telephony headsets only. Q: Why does my Email from POP3 account disappear when Send/Receive is performed? A: This issue has been observed with specific types of email accounts, including Gmail and the POP3 variety of Hotmail. The issue is caused by an interaction between a non-standard POP3 server implementation, and the Windows Mobile non-standard POP3 client implementation. What should be happening? Normally, a POP3 server lists the entire contents of its Inbox each time a client (in this case, the Messaging application) connects. Since the client may have already downloaded some of the older messages in the server's Inbox, the client is responsible for keeping track of which messages have already been received. The client only looks at new messages, and disregards the status of any message that has already been downloaded. What is happening? In some cases, the server tries to be "smart" by only showing messages that have not already been downloaded using POP3, which depends on standard client behavior of ignoring already downloaded messages. Compare this to normal server behavior, which is to always show everything in the Inbox. The client on your Windows Mobile smartphone is also trying to use a "smart" approach to managing email. The client behavior is to delete messages from the smartphone that no longer appear in the server Inbox. The combination of these "smart" behaviors causes this issue. What to do If the account settings are set to "Get message headers only," this issue is generally not seen. Press Start and select Messaging. From the Messaging application, press the Right action key to bring up the Menu. Select Tools, then Options. Tap on the POP3 account in question. Continue to select Next (Right action key) until you come to the server information page (4/4). Tap on Options, Select Next until you are on Options (3/3). In the drop down field, select Get message headers only. Press the Right action key to finish. Q: How do I type letters, numbers, capitals and symbols using the keyboard on my Treo? A: Each letter key on your Treo has three modes: Normal: types a lowercase letter Shift: types an uppercase letter Option: types the number or symbol (or activates the function) that appears above the letter on the key Typing normal (lowercase) letters All you have to do is type. If you're typing a lot of text with punctuation, you may notice that your Treo automatically capitalizes the first letter of a new sentence, as well as the first letter in a new record. We've found this to be a great time-saver. Typing capital letters: To type a capital letter, you shift to Caps, just like a typewriter or computer keyboard. To type a single capital letter (Caps Shift): Press the Caps Shift key, then type the letter you want to capitalize. When the Caps Shift is active, you will see an up-arrow in the lower right corner of your screen. To type lots of capital letters (Caps Lock): Press the Caps Shift key twice in rapid succession, then type the text you want to capitalize. When Caps Lock is active, you will see an underlined up-arrow in the
Revision 2 6/27/07 31
lower right corner of your Treo's screen. When you're done typing capital letters, press the Caps Shift key once to return to lowercase. Using the Option key to type numbers and symbols: You must first shift to Option mode and then type the symbol. You'll notice that the Treo's number keys are a little different from the keys on a typewriter: to type a number, you must first shift to Option mode. To type a single number of symbol (Option): Press the blue Option key, and then press the key with the number or symbol you want. The numbers and symbols are printed in blue on the keys. When Option is active, you will see a dot in the lower right corner of your Treo's screen. To type lots of numbers or symbols (Option Lock): Press the Option key twice in rapid succession, then press the key with the numbers or symbols you want. When Option Lock is active, you will see an underlined dot in the lower right corner of your Treo's screen. When you're done typing numbers and symbols, press the Option Shift key once to return to Normal mode. Note: Caps Lock and Option Lock cannot be active at the same time. Q: Can I play stereo music through a Bluetooth wireless headset and a Treo? A: No Q: Where can I get updates? A: You can access the Palm website to retrieve updates: http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/ Q: What is the connection speed? A: The connection speed is 115k
