Introduction : A seven-day, very strenuous, dramatic hike crossing the mountain passes at Kandi Galu

condition as very demanding with elevation ascent of 2000 meters and 1500 meters
descent in one day (total up-down, 3,500 m in one day!).

Responsible Ecotourism :
Joint Venture with BTCA - Unlike other tour operators (many of whom are not
locally based and often exploit the local population), SHA is based in Kullu (HP)
and has a unique relationship with the regional Kullu Valley organization, BTCA.
BTCA is a non-governmental society (NGO) of locally organized Kullu Valley
villagers who are registered with the Government of India. BTCA is dedicated to
helping the local village people improve the quality of their lives by developing
sustainable local economies (such as ecotourism). These are linked to the protection
of the local environment. Our joint venture with BTCA ensures that your fees
actually help to support the local people and build sustainable livelihoods.
