3.3 Create a Formal DRP Document
Complete this form using all of the DRP documentation created so far in the enterprise’s continuity planning. Be
sure to incorporate all policies, procedures, spreadsheets, and templates and agreements in the DRP document.
When everything is complete, print all of the documentation and place it into a binder – this is the enterprise’s
official DRP. Copy and distribute the binder to all necessary stakeholders.
I. Disaster Recovery Plan

In the Introduction, provide the basic rational for the Disaster Recovery Plan, including benefits and potential cost
savings. Include a background section that reviews who is on the team and what tasks were accomplished in
developing the plan. Use the information from the following sections of the DRP Planning Workbook:
» Goal Statements
» Business Unit Listing
» Definition Statement
Also report on what mitigation steps have already been undertaken. Use the DRP Operational Analysis template
filled out earlier.
Systems and Applications
Provide a complete inventory of all systems and applications which are covered by the plan. Use the results from
previous worksheets for this section. If this information was already documented in the enterprise (and the
worksheets are not needed) insert the documented information here.

Tolerance Analysis & Prioritization of Recovery
Where the previous section looks at the technical infrastructure, this section looks at business processes and how
those processes might be impacted by an infrastructure failure. This area is used to specifically present the results
of the analysis the DRP team performed in the following worksheet:
