									Windows XP

Step 1: Install Windows XP WPA2 Update
Before installing the SecureW2 application, ensure that Service Pack 2 for Windows XP
is installed by right clicking on My Computer Selecting Properties. On the General tab
listed under Systme will identify Microsoft Windows SP Service Pack 2.

Next, download and install the WPA2 hotfix from the following site:

You must reboot after installing the WPA2 hotfix before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Install SecureW2 application
Download the preconfigured file through Pirates Cove and save to your desktop. Double
Click on the SecureW2 executable file and hit the Run button. Listed below is the on-
screen instructions to complete the installation. After the installation completes, select
the “Reboot” option to complete the installation.
You must reboot the computer before proceeding.

Step 3: Selecting Wireless Network
After rebooting, open the Wireless adapter network connection properties dialog box,

    by right clicking on the Wireless Icon in your task bar and selecting “View Available
Wireless Networks”, then select “Change the Order of Preferred Networks” and select the
appropriate wireless network in the Preferred networks section. If you see
AASU_WLAN please remove.

When the wireless network properties dialog box appears, select the “Authentication”
tab, and make sure that the “Authenticate as computer when computer information is
available” checkbox is NOT checked. Select O.K. for both dialog boxes, and close the
Network Connections dialog box.

Step 4: Login Information

A message box will appear stating: “Click here to select a certificate or other credentials
for connection to the network……” Click the message box.
For students: Enter your Cove username and password.

For faculty: Enter your Cove username and password.

After logging in a message box will appear stating your wireless connection is now

network settings” option by going to the “Start” menu, opening the “Control Panel” and
selecting “Network and Internet Connections”, followed by selecting “Network

Wireless tab, select the “Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings”
