Best Practices Dublin Lawn Tennis Council Team Registration Procedures BEST PRACTICES!!!! 1 Print the Team List Worksheet in Blank and give to your Club Captains to plan and record their teams in advance of getting the fixture sheets. You can fill in the Class and Section details when you get the fixture sheets or from the Website at www.dltc.net ( about two weeks before the league) Nominate all your Subs on Day 1. A little extra effort and planning up front will save everyone time and hassle during the league Fill in all Team Captain contact details… it helps us and other team captains when you need to be contacted Please give us e mail addresses… we can then get results to you each week Give a printed copy of your subs lists to your team captains. Remember to check your final nominations before you send them to us. Remember to tell your team captains the order of nomination of your teams. It is amazing the number of teams that play in the wrong order the first week. We will check your match result sheets against the nominated teams received. If a team is played in a different order to that nominated the Rules will apply i.e. Points lost for all events affected by wrong order of play!! You will need a basic understanding of MS Excel. A total of 12 teams registrations are included. This should cover the requirements for any Club When you receive/download this document for the first time, save it to your PC and then update the version on your PC Step 1 - Read these Procedures Step 2 - Read the Best Practices Step 3 - Follow the Procedures 1 to 19 below To Nominate your Teams: 1 Access the Tab 'Team List' 2 ONLY USE THE LINES HIGHLIGHTED IN YELLOW IF YOU HAVE A TEAM(s) IN CLASS 1. Input all the details of the 'Authorised Club Officer' at the bottom of this worksheet - Lines 19 3 25 Input the Team Number, Class and Section of each of your teams from the fixture sheets that 4 have been supplied by the Council or from the Website at www.dltc.net. Input teams in numerical order of merit Input the names of your players in the relevant columns as singles and doubles pairings in 5 order of merit- Full names are mandatory 6 Input the Team Captain Contact Details for each team. Please give all contact details as this helps us when we have to contact a team. E Mail Addresses are particularly helpful 7 DO NOT DELETE team lines that are not needed on the 'Team List'. 8 Remember to save the document if you are not able to complete all details at once 9 DO NOT USE CUT AND PASTE TO INPUT OR AMEND DETAILS ON THE TEAM LIST If you follow the above , your individual team registration sheets will be automatically completed. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INPUT ANY DATA IN THE INDIVIDUAL TEAM SHEETS. THEY 10 ARE LOCKED AND PROTECTED. IF YOU NEED TO MAKE ANY AMENDMENTS TO THE TEAM REGISTRATION MAKE THE CHANGES ON THE 'TEAM LIST' SHEET AND THEY WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CHANGED ON THE TEAM REGISTRATION SHEET 11 You can print the 'Team List' sheet as a single record of all your team nominations 12 REMEMBER TO SAVE THE DOCUMENT TO YOUR PC BEFORE SENDING IT TO THE COUNCIL To Nominate your Subs: 13 Access the appropriate Tab - Subs - Men 14 Input the names of your subs along with the lowest Class in which they may Sub 15 Sort your list into alphabetical order by SURNAME using the Data/Sort function in EXCEL 16 REMEMBER TO SAVE THE DOCUMENT TO YOUR PC BEFORE SENDING IT TO THE COUNCIL 17 NOTE: You should register ALL your substitutes before the League commences. If you put a little effort into this at the start it will save problems and work for everyone during the league.
