 PETITION TO RETAIN JURISDICTION FOR ONE (1) YEAR FOLLOWING
THE CHILD’S EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY or UNTIL THE CHILD’S TWENTY-
 SECOND (22) BIRTHDAY IN CASES INVOLVING SPECIAL IMMIGRANT
                       JUVENILE STATUS

        COMES NOW, XXXXX XXXXX and petitions this Court to retain jurisdiction

over her case until the Young Adult’s Twenty-Second (22) Birthday in cases involving

Special Immigration Status and as grounds for this request states as follows:

        1.     XXXXX XXXXX was adjudicated dependent within the meaning and

intent of Florida Statutes Chapter 39;

        2.     XXXXX is a resident of the State of Florida as defined in Florida Statute

1009.40;

        3.     The purpose for XXXXX’s Petition to this Court to retain jurisdiction for

until the age of twenty-two (22) in cases involving Special Immigrant Status is:

       To review and determine whether Road to Independence Scholarship information
        and related services have been provided to the XXXXX, if applicable;
       To review and determine whether transitional support has been provided to
        XXXXX, if applicable;
       To review and determine whether mental health and developmental disability
        services, to the extent authorized by law, have been provided to XXXXX, if
        applicable;
       To review and determine whether Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (J-Visa) or
        Application for Adjustment of Immigrant Status have been filed. As related to
        this section, the Child states that:
               1.     An application for Special Immigrant Status was filed on behalf of
                      XXXXX; and

               2.     It is not certain that the application for Special Immigrant status
                      will be resolved before XXXXX’s eighteenth birthday


       WHEREFORE, XXXXX XXXXX petitions this Court to retain Jurisdiction over

her until her twenty-second (22) birthday because this case involves Special Immigrant

Status for the purpose of determining and reviewing the issues as stated above.
