Calendar events:

Thursday, January 21, is VerShare's monthly Community Soup Night at the Church-Orr House.
The fare includes a variety of soups, with a lot of locally grown ingredients, salad, bread and
dessert. All of this is made by local volunteers. Everyone is invited. There is no charge for the
meal, but donations are accepted. THIS MONTH, ALL DONATIONS WILL BE DONATED TO
have a donation box for Haiti relief at our Annual Meeting on Saturday.

Jan. 23: VerShare's 2010 Annual Meeting will be held at 5:30, Saturday, January 23, at the Vershire
Town Center. In addition to a business meeting which includes reports, election of officers, and an
opportunity to voice your thoughts, we'll also have a great lasagna dinner. After dinner, Alden
Smith, Director of the Mountain School and tracker, hunter and outdoorsman extraordinaire will
give a presentation with photos he has taken of wildlife in and around Vershire. There will be time
for questions answers and discussion with Alden.

CVCAC Head Start: Head Start Preschool in Chelsea is now four mornings a week. (Tues. – Fri,
from 8am-12 noon) This is a change from 3 mornings a week. We still have some slots available: 5
community slots are $80 a week and 10 Head Start slots for families who meet income
requirements. Jason Mallery is still our Head Start teacher, Cherilyn Sullivan is a classroom aide
two mornings a week and Karen Johnson and Sheri Baer are co-teaching with Jason one morning a

Altus Healing Arts Classes & Services
         Altus Healing Arts and SafeArt in Chelsea are offering a variety of movement and wellness
activities this winter, all starting the week of January 4th. Three different spaces are used: in the
Mascoma Bank building, Altus Downstairs includes a space for arts such as painting and textiles
(sewing and weaving), as well as offices and meeting space. Upstairs is a movement studio where
yoga classes are held. Additionally, Tracy Penfield’s Monday night dance classes are still held in
the Town Hall. These are Dance for Fun and Fitness for teens and adults, from 5:30-6:30, followed
by “Spirited Improv” with live music until 8:30.
         Monday evenings from 5-6 there is an open meditation session, with cushions and chairs
provided. Beginners can call before their first session for basic instruction. Massage and bodywork
is available by appointment with Sylvie Desautels (498-8439) on Mondays and Fridays and with
Beth Rettig (333-3793) on Wednesdays.
         The yoga offerings come from four different instructors. Penfield leads a yoga flow
movement session on Tuesday mornings from 9-10:30. Also on Tuesdays are three classes with
Lynne Hadley: Go Yoga for Kids (grades 4-8) from 3:15-4:00pm; Beginners’ Yoga (for those new
to yoga or older in life!) from 4:15-5:30pm; and Advanced Yoga from 5:45-7:15pm. Hadley also
offers an ongoing yoga session Thursday mornings from 9-10:30am. All levels of Hatha Yoga are
taught by Linda Boudreault on Thursday evenings from 5:45-7:15pm, while Sue Kapp leads
Intermediate Ashtanga Yoga on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:00am.
