We very much enjoyed our visit to Gad’s Hill last week for
the cross-country trials. King’s Rochester also took part
which meant there were about thirty runners in both the
girls’ and the boys’ races. The thaw had left the fields in
a very muddy condition. Running downhill or up a bank
presented each runner with a formidable problem! Our
girls finished 5th out of the five separate teams although
Tia and Bella achieved a 12th and 18th place respectively.
The boys fared much better with Sujjan (4th), Reagan
(5th), Jordan (13th) and Ayomide (16th) – two Year 5 and
two Year 4 runners – leading the team to a 2nd place out
of the five teams. Weather permitting, it is the House
cross-country today, following which the teams will be
selected for the ISA London South championships at
Frewen College near Rye next Wednesday.
