The Benefits of employing an Apprentice
Nigel Hillier – Exeter Branch Chairman FSB
Eighteen months ago my company, Vision ICT Ltd. took on a young apprentice with some trepidation, it should be said. We run the
business from our home and the idea of having a young person in was daunting. Our apprentice has now qualified through her IT
course to NVQ level 2 and we have taken her on full time. An apprentice can bring enthusiasm, new ideas and approaches as well as
providing an opportunity for you to work with an individual and develop their knowledge skills and personality. The support an
apprentice receives and you can receive through Exeter College is excellent and the training opportunities the individual has access to
really can benefit your business. Yes, you sometimes need patience and understanding but that it is what we all need sometimes. I
strongly recommend taking on an apprentice and would certainly encourage you to explore the potential it can offer you and your
business. More information
