This day is a kind of interactive workshop; it will be informal and personal. It
will be designed to bring us together and gather our energies towards a com-

                             Letter from the President —cont’d
You can talk to Kelly directly if there is someone/something in particular you want to celebrate or specific
areas of concern that you’d like addressed. Can’t attend the gathering? Let your voice be heard; con-
tact Kelly by phone 206-300-5972 or 425-432-3689 or email at By
sharing your perspective you help create a unique experience on January 10th that will directly impact
Washington Flute Circle by setting the spirit for the year to come.

It is our desire to provide an opportunity for every member of WA. Flute Circle to feel that their voice is
heard and that their efforts are both appreciated and essential to the success of our community. We en-
deavor to create an atmosphere of mutual encouragement and support.

We intend and expect to apply grace liberally as our Circle grows and we grow along with it. We are all
in process and learning as we grow. We are grateful that this is a circle of compassion; a community
that shares both joys and challenges.

It is exciting to see our Flute Circle community becomes more closely connected as we walk with one an-
other through shared experiences.

We look forward to sharing the special day together.

President, WA Flute Circle

                                       Local Flute Instructors
Washington Flute Circle has been asked to supply a list of local individuals who would be interested in
teaching private Native American flute lessons to the community. Each person will determine their fee
schedule so contact them directly for further information. Most of us will charge by the hour, and are 1
hour lessons, and can then be scheduled for more as the student desires.

The following is a beginning list, which is not a complete yet, but will be added to as more people contact
me. Please let me know by email, or phone 425-235-0400 if you are a
local instructor who would like to be added, or if you would like lessons and don’t see anyone in your
area. It is our intention to have a long list for people to contact and have a large area of the state of
Washington represented. Many thanks to the people who have replied so far, and I look forward to add-
ing you to the list for the February Newsletter.

Contact someone from the list below to schedule your private lesson:

                                               Didge Events
Hello to everyone, :-) Hope this email finds you all well and somewhat recovered from the holidays. First and big
THANK YOU for all of your support for the past several months and taking the time to come and see some didgeridoo
performances and attend the few workshops I've had. I'm anticipating 2010 to be an even bigger year beginning
with a series of workshops starting in January. Here's what we've got planned.

3016 NE 87th St
Seattle, WA 98115

Workshop costs
$25.00 US per class or
$80.00 US for the series of four classes
Space is limited to seven people so reservations are highly recommended. If we should go beyond seven people,
then I will rent out a space somewhere. For reservations or for more information please contact Pam at pmcom-

Saturday, 16 Jan 2010
This workshop is geared for people who have never played didgeridoo before but have a desire to learn. We will
cover getting and clarifying the drone, the basics of circular breathing, simple rhythms and vocal techniques. If you
do not have a didgeridoo, no worries. There will be extras to borrow for the class.

Saturday, 13 Feb 2010
This workshop is for people who have some of the basics but need a little more to take it to the next level. We will
cover more about circular breathing, rhythmic exercises, putting rhythms together, getting the trumpet tones and
more vocal techniques. If you do not have a didgeridoo, no worries. There will be extras to borrow for the class.

Saturday, 13 March 2010
This workshop is for people who know how to circular breath and play basic rhythms. We will cover the basics of
composition, introduction to bounce breath and getting more then one overtone or horn among other things. By now
you’ll probably have a didgeridoo but if you don’t there will be extras to borrow for the class.

Saturday, 17 April
This workshop is the last in a series covering more advanced techniques and composition. We will cover more about
bounce breathing, composition, circular breathing on the trumpets and transition between trumpet and drone. Bring
a didgeridoo that you’re most comfortable with.

Many thanks and please let me know if you have any questions at all.
Take care,
