							               HOW TO MAKE AN EXPLORER TRADING CARD

1. Log-on as one partner, then open PowerPoint.
2. Open your files and select “Explorer Trading Card Template”
3. In the box at the top of the first slide, highlight the words “Name of Explorer”, then type
   your explorer’s name over them.
4. In the box at the bottom of the first slide, highlight the words “Your Name ”, then type your
   name over them.
5. In the toolbar at the top of the screen, click on “File” then “Save As” and save your
   trading card as a new file with the name of your explorer. From now on, when it’s
   time to save changes, you’ll just click “Save”.
6. ** Next time you want to open this file, click on the PowerPoint file with the explorer’s
   name (not the “Template”) **
7. Find a picture of your explorer in World Book Online or Google images. Copy and paste it
   into the box on the first slide where it says “INSERT PICTURE OF EXPLORER HERE ”. Size
   the picture to fill in the area.
8. Save!
9. In the box at the top of the second slide, highlight the words “Name of Explorer”, then type
   your explorer’s name over them.
10. In the bulleted list, type in the facts you have found for each bullet of information -- start
   typing after the : on each line.
11. Save!
