Many publications exist which would be very useful for any congregation that is considering
installing stained glass or repairing existing windows.
The best publication on repair and restoration work is published by the Census of Stained Glass
Windows in America. It is called "Conservation and Restoration of Stained Glass: An Owner's
Guide." It gives an excellent outline of what to do and what to look out for when undertaking a
repair project. A few of the suggestions (especially about record keeping) are probably a little
more involved than necessary for most of our congregations. Nonetheless, the booklet is filled
with very valuable information for any congregation that has stained glass. There is even a
section which gives guidelines for incorporating old glass from a previous building into a new
structure. The $5 booklet is available from Census of Stained Glass, PO. Box 1531 Raleigh,
North Carolina 27602, 919-266-9493.

Additionally, the Stained Glass Association of America abounds with helpful publications on
installing stained glass or also on restoration.
