Santa Barbara County Road Construction Projects

Storm Damage Repair
The county has several engineers and construction crews out in the field repairing storm damaged areas
and roads throughout the county. They are working hard to stabilize hillsides and to repair and open
roads as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time. For more

Old San Marcos Road
Construction crews are still working on roadway repairs and slope protection. Motorists should be
aware that there will be traffic control during the day with up to 15 minute delays in the construction
zones. Motorists are also asked to use caution and be aware of informative signs, reduced speed zones
and obey flaggers while driving in construction areas. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes when
possible. We wish to thank the residents for their cooperation and patients during this time.
Tunnel Road in the Mission Canyon Area
Construction crews are working to repair the recent storm damage on Tunnel Road in the Mission
Canyon area. Motorists should be aware that there will be traffic control throughout the day with two
hour delays between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm, and 20 minute delays between 1 pm and 5:00 pm.
Motorists are also asked to use caution and be aware of informative signs, reduced speed zones and obey
flaggers while driving in the construction areas. Motorists not residing in the Tunnel Road area, are
asked avoid driving in this area when possible. We wish to thank the residents for their cooperation and
patients during this time.
North Jameson Bridge Replacement
Motorists should be aware that North Jameson will be closed at the Romero Creek Bridge site, and
motorists are asked to use caution when driving through this area.
Nojoqui Creek Bridge Replacement on Old Coast Highway
The Old Coast Highway will remain closed while bridge construction continues. Those wishing to visit
Nojoqui Falls County Park should follow the detour signs off of Highway 246 from the
