WALKIE TALKIES WILL BE AT SIGN IN TABLE, HALL MONITOR TABLES, IN
CHURCH OFFICE AND WITH EACH STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBER AND
FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY

Policies:
Sign in and sign out at all times unless you are simply going to your car for a minute.
Keep all doors closed as much as possible.
NEVER enter or leave by an alternate door of the church building beside the West entrance except for fire
drill and alarm emergencies.
Wear your name tag at ALL times.
Children grade 5 and below may not leave the building unless accompanied by an adult.
Even church members visiting the church need a name tag and need to sign in. Any adult who knows them
may vouch for them and they do not need to be escorted.

Each sign in table shift must predetermine a runner and designated authority at the start of their shift.

MOMS SHOULD STOP STRANGERS WITHOUT NAMETAGS AND INQUIRE AS TO THEIR BUSINESS IN THE
BUILDING. ESCORT THEM TO THE SIGN IN TABLE TO BE SURE THEY HAVE REGISTERED.

Scenario # 1:
If someone enters the building who is not a co-op member but is a guest or is seeking to speak to a co-op
member.

    • The person is detained at the sign in table.

    • Someone is dispatched to notify the person they are here to see.

    • The person they are here to see can sign them in at which point they will be given a name tag.

    • They must be escorted to and from the class they are attending.

    • They may NOT wander through the co-op unattended. The following exceptions are being made:
visiting relatives of a co-op family or past co-op family members. In both of these situations prior
approval must be attained. Approval can be received prior to the co-op day from any steering
        committee member.
Scenario # 2: PRAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone enters the building without permission and is NOT compliant with adult who confronts
   them.

   • They are informed that they may not enter the building any further.

If they insist on proceeding,
    • Make announcement over the nearest intercom (dial 32* and wait for the beep) and walkie talkie:
THERE IS AN INTRUDER IN THE BUILDING. As soon as this announcement has
been made over intercom, all adults assume LOCKDOWN.
    • Visual contact should be maintained with intruder at all times and walkie talkie communication
should continue at all times till first responders arrive and take over.

   • LOCKDOWN: Each teacher will need to:

o Turn off the room lights
o Close and secure doors. Bookshelves and tables can be pushed against the doors. IF doors
             have locks, LOCK THEM.
           o Close the window blinds
o Everyone should huddle on the wall between the two doors.
o No one should be visible from the door window.
           o Take roll of students
o All in the FLC should file into Sunday School office (Rm 115) and the adjacent bathroom
             and Lock Door.

   • At sign in table: RUNNER at the table should quickly proceed to the kitchen with walkie talkie to
notify the office, having office call 911 as they go. Then announce to family life center calling for
lock down (There is no intercom in the main part of the FLC).

   • S.D. remains at table to engage or keep visual contact with intruder and takes in hand the sign in
sheet praying continually for wisdom. If intruder is in some other part of the building, take cell
phone and other walkie talkie to restroom and lock door.

   • Any other adults in the area proceed to the closest classroom or room with a lock, taking whatever
children they encounter with them as they go.

   • No parent should leave the children assigned to them and attempt to locate their own
       children!!!!!!!!!

EVERYONE FOLLOWS LOCKDOWN PROCEEDURES UNTIL THE ALL CLEAR IS
                       GIVEN BY POLICE AUTHORITY!
Final Thoughts:

Always be aware of your surroundings. Assess your situation.
