The Most Amazing Bridesmaid’s Dress Contest
                          Calling for Entries & Photos

WINSTON-SALEM, NC—Former bridesmaids now have a new use for those bridesmaid’s dresses in the
back of their closets. They can enter photos of their dresses in The Most Amazing Bridesmaid’s Dress
Contest. Contest participants can choose from three categories in which to enter their dresses: Most
Beautiful, Most Unlovely, and Most Outrageous. Finalists in the contest will be required to appear in
person with their dresses before the panel of judges. One winner in each category will win $200 of dry
cleaning from Twin City Cleaners & Wedding Gown Specialists. The contest starts February 4 and
continues through March 3.
Besides creating fun, the contest was designed to generate excitement and donations of dresses in
good condition for the Enchanted Prom Memories Dress Giveaway sponsored by the YWCA of Winston-
Salem, Twin City Cleaners and Hanes Mall. Contest participants will have the choice of donating their
dresses to the Enchanted Prom Memories Dress Giveaway, although that is not a requirement for
participation. Twin City Cleaners donates their services to collect, clean and press the dresses before the
giveaway. To obtain a receipt for tax purposes through the YWCA, donors will need to fill out a form
when items are dropped off .
Entry forms for the contest are available online at or at any of the
three Twin City Cleaners locations: The Towers Shopping Center, 205 S. Stratford Road in Winston-
Salem; Tanglewood Commons Shopping Center at the intersection of US 158 and Harper Road in
Clemmons; and The Oaks at the intersection of Shallowford and Williams Roads in Lewisville. The
deadline for entries is Monday, March 3, 2008. Winners will be announced in mid-March.
For those women only interested in donating dresses, Twin City Cleaners collects long and short,
formal dresses in good condition, such as bridesmaid, cocktail, and prom dresses. The greatest need is for
very small sizes—like 0s, 2s, and 4s—and large sizes such as 16-24. Items donated are tax-deductible
through the YWCA. To obtain a receipt for tax purposes, donors will need to complete a form when items
are dropped off at any of the three Twin City Cleaners stores.
