Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE)
FIRE is announcing their second annual “Freedom in Academia” essay contest. Seniors have the chance to win up to a $5,000
college scholarship. To enter go to, www.thefire.org/contests and the final day to submit entries is November 6, 2009.

University of Southern Indiana Scholarships
There are several types of scholarships available to incoming freshmen attending USI. Check out this web site for more information

Wabash College Scholarships
There are several scholarships available to students entering Wabash College in 2010. Visit
http://www.wabash.edu/admissions/finances/scholarships for more information.

Purdue University Scholarships
Scholarship information is available at http://www.purdue.edu/Admissions/Undergrad/costs/merit_scholarships.html. November 15,
2009, is the firm admission application deadline for Purdue’s Trustees and Presidential scholarships and the priority deadline for all
other Purdue scholarships. To meet the deadline, the admission application must be complete by this date.

Indiana State University Scholarships
There are several scholarships available for freshmen who will be studying 12 or more credit hours per semester on the Indiana
State University campus. Deadlines vary on the various scholarships, however, to receive full consideration for many of their
scholarships, you must be admitted to ISU by December 1, 2009. For more information, visit their web site at

Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program – IUPUI
The Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program is IUPUI’s most prestigious scholarship program. Dedication to service and academic
excellence are a must for any potential Bepko Scholar. Applications and additional information are available online at:
www.BepkoScholars.iupui.edu. Application deadline is December 1, 2009.

College of Business at Indiana State University Scholarship
The Gongaware Center at ISU’s College of Business is offering a four-year scholarship in the amount of $30,000 in addition to a
laptop computer, a $3,000 personal development account, and direct involvement in a personalized leadership development plan.
Any interested senior must exhibit leadership experience and potential, earn a minimum GPA of 3.5, rank in the top 10% of their
class, and have a combined SAT score of at least 1500 out of 2400. If you meet the above criteria and are interested, applications
are available online at www.indstate.edu/business/gongaware and the deadline is December 1, 2009.

Networks Financial Institute at Indiana State University
Provides four-year scholarships for qualified, incoming ISU freshman who choose to pursue a career in financial services. To be
considered for a Networks Scholarship, you must first apply to become a full-time student at Indiana State (online at
www.indstate.edu or by calling 800-472-0891). Networks Scholarship applications are available online at
www.networksfinancialinstitute.org and www.indstate.edu/business and must be postmarked by December 1, 2009.

National Wild Turkey Federation’s Academic Scholarship Program
A $1,000 scholarship is available to a senior with the following credentials: minimum 3.0 GPA, pursuing a degree at an accredited
institution of higher learning, have a current hunting license, show involvement in school activities, and demonstrate leadership.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office and are due to your counselor by December 14, 2009.

2009 SAE Engineering Scholarships
Students who intend to earn a degree in engineering should visit www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm for information. SAE is proud
to be able to offer more than 60 corporate- and university-sponsored scholarships in the study of engineering and related sciences,
including the University of Evansville. Applications must be postmarked by December 15, 2009.

The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship Program
The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship Program will award up to $670,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors
across the country. Go to www.axa-achievement.com to learn more about the scholarship program and to download an application.
Apply by December 15, 2009.

University of Evansville Scholarships
There are several scholarships available to incoming freshmen at UE. Visit their web site at http://www.evansville.edu/scholarships
for more information.

Vincennes University Scholarships
Applications are available online at www.vinu.edu/scholarships and must be submitted by January 15, 2010 for full consideration.

2009-10 Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias of Indiana
Applications are available in the Guidance Office and online at www.knightsofpythiasofnewcastle.com . Applications must be
postmarked by January 25, 2010 and no handwritten applications will be accepted. Students must have a GPA of a B or above,
submit SAT or ACT results, and be registered in an accredited college or university with proof of registration prior to disbursement of
funds.

Vincennes University Foundation
The Dorothy M. Walters Scholarship ($8,000/year) is available to an outstanding student majoring in Education. The Children of the
Alumni Scholarship ($1,000/year) is available to any major. Visit www.vinu.edu/foundation for applications and more information.
These scholarships are due February 1, 2010. General scholarship information and applications are also available at this web site
and are due by January 15, 2010.

2010 I.A.E.O.P Scholarship
A $500 scholarship is available from the Indiana Association of Educational Office Professionals (I.A.E.O.P.) to assist a business
education student wishing to continue their education in an office-related career. Applicants must maintain a 2.8 GPA and have
applied for post-secondary school training at a two or four year college, university, business college, or school or
vocational/technical education. Applications are available at IAEOP’s web site http://iaeop.lcsc.k12.in.us and in the Guidance Office
must be postmarked by February 1, 2010. North Posey is in District #7.

2009 KFC Colonel’s Scholars
Graduating seniors maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher planning to enroll in a public Indiana college or university who are
pursuing a bachelor’s degree should apply online at www.kfcscholars.org between December 1, 2009 and February 10, 2010.
Scholars may begin their college by entering either a 2- or 4-year accredited, public college or university within their state of legal
residence, as long as they stay on track to complete a bachelor’s degree program.

The National Co-Op Scholarship Program
Students with a GPA of 3.5 or better should submit the application and essay online by visiting www.co-op.edu by February 15,
2010. To be eligible for one of these scholarships, students must attend one of the following NCCE Partner Colleges and
Universities: Drexel Univ., Johnson & Wales Univ., Kettering Univ., Pace Univ., Rochester Insitute of Technology, Univ. of
Cincinnati, Univ. of Toledo, or Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Marist College
Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, through a joint effort with the National Science Foundation (NSF) is awarding 12 full
scholarships (tuition, room and board) to highly talented students majoring in Computer Science or Information Technology and
Systems. Applications are available online at www.marist.edu/admission (on the application, check the box labeled “National
Science Foundation Scholarship Program”). Apply no later than February 15, 2010.

Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union Scholarships
ETFCU is offering ten $2000 scholarships to graduating seniors in 2010. To qualify, seniors must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 at
the end of the fall semester. Also, applicants or parents/guardians must have been members of ETFCU for at least one year prior to
March 1, 2010. Those seniors who meet the above criteria must submit their completed application (available in the
Guidance Office now and online at www.etfcu.org/scholarship) to Mrs. Lamble by February 22, 2010.

USI Alumni Association Leadership Award
Any senior planning to attend USI should apply for this $1,000 award if you can show extensive leadership qualities and be in the
upper 20% of your class. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be received by March 30, 2010.

US Bank Internet Scholarship Program
This is available to high school seniors and college undergraduates. Forty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in a random
drawing. The program runs October through March. Apply online at www.usbank.com/studentloans and click on Internet
Scholarship.

MeritAid.com
Merit Aid is awarded to student with a broad range of GPAs. Students with a 2.0 GPA or higher often qualify. There are merit aid
scholarships for students based on their interests, their intended majors, leadership, and community service. Visit
www.meritaid.com to begin your search.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program
Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with their scholarship program for the 4 th year and will be
awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s). The scholarship deadline is June 19, 2010. Students will submit an essay on the topic that
appears on the scholarship page of their web site: http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm.

BigSun Scholarship
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. They are
offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student in the amount of $500. All student athletes are eligible for this award,
regardless of which sport they are participating in. The deadline to apply is June 24, 2010. Visit http://www.bigsunathletics.com to
learn how to apply. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently
involved in some sport at that institution.

Ball State University Scholarships
There are several scholarships available to incoming freshmen at Ball State. There are handouts in the Guidance Office or you can

Naval ROTC Scholarships

The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship is available to students who are U.S. citizens, physically qualified
by Navy or Marine Corps standards and score a minimum SAT: 530 Critical Reading; 520 Math, and ACT: 22 English; 22 Math.

Roger’s Academy of Hair Design
Applications are now available in the Guidance Office for any interested students. Scholarships are available for $1,000. Visit

Posey County Community Foundation Scholarships
1. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program will award two applicants with a scholarship that covers four years of
undergraduate study at an accredited Indiana college or university and an allowance for required fees and books. The application
and submission instructions are available online at www.poseycommunityfoundation.org and are due by January 19, 2010. Please
read the submission instructions carefully. Eligibility requirements are as follows:
    1. Be a resident of Indiana and be a resident of or attend high school in Posey County.
    2. Be a graduate of an accredited Posey County or Indiana high school or academy by June 2010 and begin as a full-time
       college student in the fall of 2010.

    3. Demonstrate high academic achievement in completed course work with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0
       scale). Have either a minimum SAT score of 1700 or a minimum ACT score of 25.

    4. Have completed the college prep curriculum in high school upon graduation.
    5. Demonstrate commitment to school activities, community service, and/or employment.

    6. Be available for an interview with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist.

2. The Community Scholarship Program is made up of twenty-three scholarship funds, each with individual selection criteria and
individual requirements. The application and submission instructions are available online at www.poseycommunityfoundation.org
