Media Financing Forum 2008

Theme: “Understand, Adapt and Evolve
- Towards a Market for Asian Content”
Traditionally, the Asian film and television industry has generally been
dependent upon itself to fuel the content development and production
process, with limited distribution beyond the geographical boundaries of
the content's origins. This was perhaps due to the very ethnic nature of the
content, coupled with the lack of demand from outside the region. Even
within Asia, cooperative development of content between countries was
perhaps best described as “infrequent”, and interest in the industry from
outside of Asia almost non-existent.
In recent years, the industry - especially the Asian film industry - had been
undergoing much transformation. The rapid development of the Indian film Who should Attend?

quite some numbers of good Asian content being developed and distributed
