April 2, 2009, Calgary, AB…The delectable details of the 2nd annual Banff Rocky Mountain Wine & Food
Festival have just been released and already visitors are booking the incredible accommodation
packages, snatching up Grand Tasting Hall tickets, and securing spots at the specialty wine and food
events. Organizers announced a number of additions to the line-up of events this year, solidifying the
Banff Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival as one of Canada’s yummiest culinary celebrations.

The Grand Tasting Hall, the pinnacle event of the weekend, will be filled to the brim with a tantalizing
variety of wine, import beer, scotch, port and premium spirits from around the world. This year’s
Festival will showcase more than 60 wines from over a dozen countries, including Pillitteri Estates
Winery (Ontario), Fratelli Urciuolo (Italy) and Deerfield Ranch (California) and a variety of fruit wines,
organic and biodynamic wines, port and sparkling wines. Over half a dozen booths will be offering local
and import beer, including Creemore Springs Premium Lager from Ontario and Kronenbourg 1664 from
France. On the spirited side of things, Mexican tequila, Columbian rum, and of course scotch from
Scotland will be scattered throughout the hall.Local restaurants will also be serving gourmet food
samples, such as Dungeness Crab Cakes with Melon Salad to Free-Range Bison Mini-Burgers to Organic
Chinook Salmon with Chipotle Glaze.

The Grand Tasting Hall features two tasting sessions from 2-5pm and 7-10pm on Saturday, May 2nd at
the Fairmont Banff Springs. Tickets are $20.00 online or $25.00 at the door (based on availability).
Sampling coupons are available for purchase upon arrival, allowing consumers to customize what they
try and how much they spend.

“We’re seeing a lot of excitement from local restaurants and bars for the festival.” says Julie Canning,
CEO and President of Banff Lake Louise Tourism. “People in the community are really rallying around the
opportunity to showcase their best wine, food and fun, and many are planning to host individual events
that weekend.”
