    PRESENTING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF WOOSTER

                              PARADE DATE, JULY 5, 2008

The City of Wooster Bicentennial Committee and Parade Co-Chairman cordially invite your
organization to participate in our parade celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the founding of our
city. The parade will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008. The parade will organize at the Wayne
County Fair Grounds at 11:00 A.M. and will step off promptly at NOON. The route of the
parade will be exiting the Fair Grounds; to the left (Gate #2) on Vanover St. turning right onto West
Liberty St. traveling to Bever St., turn right onto Bever St., traveling to South St., turning right
onto South St. to Columbus Ave. turning left onto ColumbusAve. finally turning right on to
Vanover St. and reentering the Wayne County Fair Grounds at (Gate #1) to disband.

The distribution of gifts, merchandise, literature, hand-outs or other materials
must be handed directly to the recipient; absolutely no materials may be
THROWN along the parade route. Squirt guns, silly string and other items
potentially dangerous to spectators are strictly forbidden.

The consumption or position of alcoholic bev erages or other illegal
substances is forbidden for any participant.

No political advertising or campaigning will be permitted..

Floats must consist of something more than people riding in the back of pick-up trucks. The float
should depict the theme of the parade, WOOSTER, THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE and
be at least 10 feet in length. When traveling in the parade route we ask that you keep a safe
distance between you and other uni s around you. A commemorative plaque will be

presented to each entry as you exit the Fair Grounds at the beginning of the
parade.

We ask that each entry clearly identify who they are on their float or marching unit.

Marching units should provide marchers with adequate water along the parade route. Restroom
facilities are available at the fair grounds and some will be available at the square. The marching
unit must not disrupt the parade to make use of facilities.

All Equestrian units must provide their own clean-up crew or you will not be allowed to enter the
parade route.

Fire Engines, Antique vehicles, and any other motorized unite should only sound their horns or
sirens on Liberty Street between Walnut and Buckeye Streets and again on South Street
between Walnut and Buckeye Street. This is out of respect for those residents who would rather
view the vehicles and not hearthem.

We cordially invite you to join us on July 5, 2008, to celebrate the Cities Bicentennial Parade.
Our goal is to create a parade of history and quality representing the many businesses and
organization that have contributed to making our city what it is today.
The parade will step off from the Wayne County Fair Grounds at noon and we hope to have
all entries pass the review stand by 2 P.M.

The theme is “Wooster’s Past, Present, and Future” should give everyone a chance to express
what the city has met to their business or organization and how they would like the city to
grow in the future.

There will not be any judging of marching units, floats or motorized vehicles, nor will there
be any prize money awarded. Each entry will receive a commemorative plaque and all
participants will receive a commemorative ribbon. We want this event to be an enjoyable
and fun time for all to view and participate in.

The entry deadline is May 1, 2008, please return all entries to the above address, any entries
postmarked after this date will not be considered.
