he Fly Agaric fungus is the toad-
stool of fairy tales, a symbol of good
fortune and Christmas, as familiar
as Santa Claus and his reindeer. It is
described as “the quintessential mush-
room”, a potent hallucinogen of deep
shamanic and religious importance.
It is a common sight in the woods of
temperate regions of the northern hemi-
sphere. It probably originated in Siberia
before spreading throughout Europe,
