In 2008, the rst 256 Slice Computer Tomographic (CT) Scanner in the Northeastern United States was installed at Lenox Hill Hospital, making it one of only three hospitals in the country to acquire this advanced cardiovascular imaging system. Images from the scanner show the coronary arteries with extreme clarity making it easier to detect and treat structural heart disease, peripheral vascular disease and carotid artery disease.
