SOO VET’S GROUPS MEETINGS AROUND THE FORMER SYSTEM
Chicago, IL. - Milwaukee Road retirees meet the second and fourth Thursday of each
month at George’s in Elgin, IL, and The Four Seasons in Franklin Park IL, respectively.
Meetings start at 9:00 A. M. and all Soo Line and Milwaukee retirees are welcome.
Chippewa Falls, WI. - Soo Vet’s retirees meet on the first Wednesday of each month at
the Black Steer on Highway 124 south of Chippewa Falls, WI. Breakfast starts at 8:45

Fond du lac, WI. - Soo Line Carmen meet twice each month on the first Wednesday for
lunch at noon and on the third Wednesday for dinner at 6:00 p.m. Different restaurants

Broken Rails, Glenwood MN. - Group meets the second Thursday of every month at
9:00 A.M. for breakfast at the Village Inn in Glenwood, MN. Contact person is Berdon

Harvey, ND. - Group meets monthly on the SECOND Wednesday of the month at the

Ladysmith, WI. - Retirees in this area meet on the first Thursday of each month at the
Green Acres located at Hwy 27 and County A (about 1 mile north of Ladysmith) at 6:00

Thursday of each month for breakfast at 10:30 A.M. at Perkins restaurant 6023 Nicollet

Minot, ND - Retirees meet once a month for dinner. For further information as to the

Rhinelander, WI – Retirees in this area meet on the first Thursday of each month at the

The Rusty Rails – Retiree group meets at 9:00 A.M. for breakfast on the first Tuesday of
each month at the Valley Inn 123 East Wisconsin Ave, Neenah, WI.
Schiller Park, IL – No meetings during January or February but meetings resume on the
first Monday in March and every month thereafter for coffee, sweet rolls and good

Silver Rails – Retirees meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 11:00 A.M. at the
Kraus Hartig VFW Post No 6587, 8100 Pleasant View Drive, Spring Lake Park, MN.
Social hour starts at 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon and lunch “whenever” you wish.

The SOO-vivors – Retirees meet for lunch on the first Monday of each month at the
Chester Bird Legion Post #523, 200 North Lilac Dr, Golden Valley, MN. 55422. Social
hour starts at 11:00 A.M. and lunch is served at 12:00 noon. The post is located off of
Glenwood Ave. Lilac Dr is the first turnoff to the north, east of Hwy 100.

The St Croix Valley Senior Rails – Retirees meet on a monthly basis which is the third
Thursday of each month at the Chisago House Restaurant in Taylor Falls WI at 9:00

Stevens Point, WI – Retirees meet on the first Thursday of each month at the Blue Top

Soo Line Medford WI 2004 Picnic – will be held at the The J C Shelter Medford WI
City Park on Sunday August 29, 2004. Plan to arrive about 11:00 A.M.

Switch Keys Woodbury, MN. – Retirees meets EVERY WEDNESDAY morning at
10:00 A.M. at The Keys in Woodbury MN, located just off Highway 494 and Valley
Creek Rd. Any “rail” working or retired, is invited for coffee. A new contact person will
soon be published in the newsletter and this notice will be updated.

Upper Michigan – The Upper Michigan group (Gladstone and surrounding area) Meets
Weekly for a Dutch treat breakfast at the Dew Drop Restaurant in Gladstone, MI. every
Wednesday at 7:45 A.M. No reservations are necessary – just show up. Any questions
call Margaret Eagle and I’m sure she can give you more information, if needed.
