MINUTES RESOLVED - That the minutes of the last meeting held on 10 November 2004 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair. 38. DECLARATION OF INTERESTS Members were reminded of their duty under Part III of the Local Government Act 2000 to update any declarations of personal or prejudicial interests. 39. EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC RESOLVED - That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the remaining business in accordance with the indicated paragraphs of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972. 40. GILLBRIDGE AVENUE POLICE STATION: ADDITIONAL LOCKER AND CHANGING ACCOMMODATION (PREMISES IMPROVEMENT FUND INITIATIVE PHASE 2 - 2004/05) (Paragraph 9) Five tenders have been received to provide additional lockers and adequate changing facilities at Gillbridge Avenue Police Station. Budgetary provision exists within the 2004/05 capital budget for premises improvements to meet this expenditure. RESOLVED - That the lowest tender submitted by D H Allan and Sons Limited be accepted and the Architect and Technical Adviser be authorised to place an order for the works. 41. APPROVED LIST OF BUILDING CONTRACTORS (Paragraph 9) The firms added to and deleted from the approved list of building contractors by the Architect and Technical Adviser under delegated powers in accordance with minute 123 – 1992/93 were reported. RESOLVED - That the additions and deletions of the firms to and from the approved list of building contractors as outlined be noted. 42. SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY – 1, CLAYWORTH ROAD, BRUNTON PARK (Paragraph 9) The above property is vacant and surplus to the requirements of the Chief Constable. In accordance with the agreed policy on the disposal of surplus properties (minute 14 – 2003/04), the property was advertised for sale on the open market and offers reported (minute 93 – 2003/04). However, the bidders were unable to proceed. Details of offers received following the re-advertising of the property for sale on the open market were submitted. The sale proceeds will be treated as capital receipts. RESOLVED - (i) That the highest offer received be accepted. (ii) That, in the event of the highest offer being withdrawn, the Clerk (Estates) be authorised to offer the property to the next highest bidder. 43. SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY – 9, BEECHWOOD AVENUE, WHITLEY BAY (Paragraph 9) The above property is vacant and surplus to the requirements of the Chief Constable. In accordance with the agreed policy on the disposal of surplus properties (minute 14 – 2003/04), the property was advertised for sale on the open market and offers reported (minute 64 – 2003/04). However, the purchasers were unable to proceed. Details of offers received following the re-advertising of the property for sale on the open market were again reported (minute 30 – 2004/05). Details of a revised offer following changes in the residential property market were submitted. RESOLVED - That the revised offer, as outlined, be accepted.
