CoreMax Integrated System for Rapid Evacuation & Refrigerant Charging

                           The CoreMax system is a family of manufacturing and service tools designed
                           to work with a new high-flow valve. Together they form a flexible system that
                           shortens processing times, while improving the quality of refrigeration products.
                           CoreMax provides up to five times greater processing flow, plus dramatically
                           improved sealing, faster access connections and at the same time, improved
                           manufacturing tool durability and ergonomics.
                           Unlike other systems, this is an integrated system design, not just a component
                           design. It’s designed to allow processing through the seat or the valve, while
                           other systems are not designed for processing.

                                                        A Replacement for Process Tubes
                                                        The system is centered around the CoreMax high-flow access valve.
                                                        Common access valves have a sleeve seal between the valve core
                                                        and the tube fitting and an o-ring elastomer seal on the valve, creating
                                                        two leak paths. CoreMax uses one elastomer to seal the valve and
                                                        between the core and the tube fitting. A metal to metal seal is also
                                                        provided between the core and tube fitting for redundancy.

System tools:




     Torque Gun
     Inserts valve core directly to seat or works with insertion tool
     Installs and properly torques the CoreMax valve core into the seat
     Hold and drive design prevents stress on the brazed joint of the seat
     There are three versions:
             SCFTP01 used with valve core insertion tool
             SCFTP02 inserts valve core into seat
             SCFTP03 right angle style inserts valve into seat
     Application;
     Used to torque the CoreMax valve core into the seat

   SnapMate:
   • Snaps on and off for quick access under pressure
   • Available in both service and production versions
   • Internal automatic valve for minimal refrigerant emission
   • Designed for full valve activation

  Flow rate testing under vacuum yielded the following results:

System Process Improvement Tools:




                                         Evacuating through the CoreMax valve with the SnapMate® connector is as fast
                                         as through a 1/4” process tube. Using the core insertion tool, evacu-
                                         ation through the CoreMax seat provides the shortest cycle
                                         time possible. Completely compatible with existing caps and service
                                         connections. The front end of the CoreMax valve uses the same thread, taper
                                         and sealing surface as those in ANSI/ARI standard 720-88 refrigeration access
                                         valves. This allows the use of all existing caps and service connections




MBE
A low cost alternative tool for processing through the seat of the CoreMax system. Used
when the CoreMax core is to be installed at the end of the process, or when the vacuum
process is done at the last station.
There are two versions :
* SCMA07 - W/CoreMax core termination (7/16-20 with poppit)
* SCM061 - W/female 3/8”NPT termination for full flow processing
Application
With the CoreMax valve core installed the MBE is used primarily at the evacuation station
for shorter evacuation times. When the CoreMax valve core is not installed the MBE is
used for burst and pressure testing. Pressures up to 700 psi.




                                              The Core Insertion Tool
                                              Ideal for large units where evacuation times are long and maximum processing
                                              flow is desired. The Core Insertion Tool is a sleeve actuated connector that
                                              allows processing directly through the seat before the CoreMax valve is
                                              installed. Flow rates depend on the size of the tubing but will be comparable
                                              to process tubes of the same size. The Core Insertion Tool has many
                                              features designed to make it both durable and easy to use in a manufacturing
                                              environment. All operator actions have visual, tactile and audible feedback
                                              when completed.
                                              Application;
                                              Used for evacuation stations to achieve the maximum flow and therefore the
                                              shortest processing time. The final step with this tool is the insertion of the
                                              CoreMax valve prior to the unit moving to the charging station. Pressures up to
                                              700 psi.

Service Tools:



Valve Core Removal Tool
Sleeve actuated tool that allows removal and replacement of the CoreMax valve core without
loss of refrigerant.
Application;
Used to remove and replace CoreMax valve core in charged units. Pressures up to 600 psi.




                                     Service SnapMate
                                     High flow service connector

                                     The SnapMate connectors are designed to provide quick connections to CoreMax Valve
                                     Cores as well as standard 1/4” access valves. The Collets grip on the threads and are
                                     made of Brass. The sleeve is hardened steel. The SnapMate Connector is specifically
                                     designed for the Service Industry. It provides quick and easy connections to all 7/16-
                                     20, 45˚ flare standard refrigeration access valves. Pressures up to 625 psi. 1" dia. x 2"
                                     length, approximate size.
                                     Application
                                     Used by HVAC service technicians to evacuate and charge refrigerant during field
                                     servicing.
