					                       GALE CLIFFORD GURR
        Memorial services for Gale Gurr, 37 of Medford will be held, Wednesday,
2:00pm at Mountain Christian Fellowship. Gale died Thursday, April 24th in the
Johns Peak area following an accident.
        He was born in 1970 to Gene and Barbara Gurr in Pasadena, CA. Gale was
a 1989 Graduate of Upland High School, CA. He was a 1994 graduate with a
Bachelor of Arts in Business from California State University, San Bernardino, CA.
        In 1994 he married Melissa Menold who survives. The couple moved to
Oregon in 1995 where Gale was hired with the Phoenix Fire Department in 1996.
He received his EMT Paramedic certification in 1998 and he began working for
Medford Fire Department in 1998. Gale was promoted to Engineer 2004.
        Gale was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
        Survivors in addition to his wife Melissa Gurr are two daughters, Lindsey
and Ashley Gurr, his stepmother, Laraine Gurr of Upland, CA, grandmother Lois
Hodgins of Upland, CA, his father and Mother-in-Law, Ted and Melanie Menold of
Ashland, OR, bother and sister-in-law, Lance and Krista Menold, niece Jillian
Menold and newborn nephew, Ryan Gale Menold, all of Medford. Gale is also
survived by a very large and extended family.
        Gale was a loving husband and father who spent time with his girls playing
sports, bike rides, swimming and bar-be-quing. He completely enjoyed hanging out
with his friends and was known for his incredibly funny sense of humor. He was
always willing to help others and was known to be one of the first to volunteer his
help.
        Gale truly loved the Fire Department and his follow Firefighters in the
Rogue Valley.
        Melissa would like to give heart felt thanks to all those who assisted in the
rescue efforts. The support from family, friends and the Fire Department has been
comforting and reassuring at such a difficult time. Gale was deeply loved by his
family and will be forever in our hearts.

                                 John Rory Wells

         Memorial services for John Wells, 51 of Medford will be held, Wednesday,
2:00pm at Mountain Christian Fellowship. John died Thursday, April 24th in the
Johns Peak area following an accident.
         He was born in 1956 to Clarence Wells and Betty Abbott, in Los Angeles,
CA. John was raised in San Jose, CA where he was a graduate of Willow Glen
High.
         In 1979 he married Marie Sisco in San Jose, and the couple moved to
Oregon. He started his career in firefighting with the Klamath Falls City Fire
Department in 1983. Shortly there after, he celebrated the births of his daughters
Jenna and Amanda Wells who were the lights of his life. In 1992 he was hired with
Medford Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT.
         John enjoyed building and designing several of his own homes. He loved
riding and working on his Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
         Survivors in addition to his wife Marie are his daughter, Amanda Wells of
Medford, two brothers, Bob Wells of Los Gatos, CA and Thomas Wells of San Jose,
CA, one sister, Cathy Ferreira of Klamath Falls, OR and several nieces. He was
preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Jenna Wells and his nephew, Jim
Wells.
         John loved his fellow firefighters and enjoyed exchanging practical jokes.
There was a constant effort to outdo one another, with John often having the last
word. John showed great empathy to families in crisis and always provided the
highest level of customer service.
         His family was his top priority. He spent countless hours playing softball
with his daughter, Amanda. Each day, he lived life to the fullest.
         Marie would like to extend her thanks to John’s fellow firefighters, the
Search and Rescue Teams and many friends for their love and support.
