NYSESLAT USER’S GUIDE FOR ENROLLMENT
FOR FIELD TESTS AND OPERATIONAL TESTS
Use the following directions to verify your school’s secure storage location information and submit your request
for NYSESLAT materials.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Do not use your browser’s forward and back buttons; any information that you just entered on the page you
are leaving will not be recorded in the SchoolHouse database.
Once you have entered your school’s Enrollment Data or made any changes to it, you must click the “Save &
Complete Enrollment” button or the data will not be saved.
1. Go to www.ncsschoolhouse.com and click the “Login” button either in the center or the upper right hand
corner of the screen.
2. Enter the User ID and Password1 assigned to you by Pearson and click “Login." Your new User ID and
Password was sent in the memorandum with the grade band(s) and modality for field testing at your school.
All passwords issued for the 2007-08 school year have expired and will not be recognized for access to the
SchoolHouse system.
3. A page opens displaying the “Request Agreement.” This agreement details your obligations as principal to
comply with the requirements for the storage and handling of secure NYSESLAT materials as provided in the
memorandum which included your User ID and Password. Carefully read the agreement and click “I Agree.”
4. The SchoolHouse home page will open containing links to all pages of the SchoolHouse web site as well as to
related sites. You must click on the “Enrollment” tab at the top of the page to begin the process of enrolling
for the 2009 NYSESLAT.
5. The “Enrollment” page opens. From the drop down box at the upper right of the screen, select either
“NYSESLAT Field Test 2009” or “NYSESLAT Operational Test 2009” to begin entering your school’s
enrollment numbers for that test. (Note that you cannot enter your school’s enrollment numbers for the
Operational Test until the initial ordering window for the operational tests opens.)
6. After you have selected the test from the drop down box, a page will open with “Detailed Instructions” on
how to enter or edit your school’s enrollment data. Print these instructions to use as a reference while entering
your school’s enrollment data.
7. Click on the “Enrollment” sub-tab (on the line highlighted in dark blue directly underneath the main tabs).
The “Browse Enrollment” page will open. The first time you open this page, you will see zeros in the fields
for each grade.
8. Click on the “Edit Enrollment” button to enter your school’s enrollment data. For the 2009 NYSESLAT Field
Tests, enter your enrollment numbers only for those grades in the grade band(s) assigned to your school and
only for those students who have been identified as limited English proficient.
