Q: What is the new ship date for TS3?
A: The new ship date in NA is June 2, 2009. The Sims 3 will ship in the EU/APAC and start reaching
                       rd
store shelves on June 3 .

Q: Why was the game launch pushed back to June?
A: The Sims 3 June launch gives it a longer runway for a bigger global marketing campaign, more time
for tuning and polish and in order to launch the game on PC and Mac platforms simultaneous. This is a
key EA franchise and title and it deserves a bigger bet on the best Sims game EA has made.

Q: Do you feel the economy is going to significantly impact the sales of The Sims 3?
A: The Sims franchise is a global cultural phenomenon which we feel reaches a broad consumer base
that will help The Sims 3 be a top-selling PC/Mac game.

Q: What Label is publishing the game?
A: The new name is the EA Play Label.

Q: What is the EA Play Label?
A: The EA Play Label is The Sims Studio which is The Sims 3, MySims and SimAnimal franchises, and
the EA Hasbro and EA Casual Studios. Rod Humble is the Head of the EA Play Label.

Q: What is the name of the Studio making the game?
A: The Sims Studio, a large portion of the team making The Sims 3, was also involved in The Sims 2.

Q: How many people are on The Sims 3 team?
A: At its peak the team had more than 100 people. The team size various throughout the development
cycle.

Q: How many women are in the EA Play Label?
A: Our studio and marketing teams are proud to have a balanced mix of men and women, based around
the world, working on our products.

Q: What are the biggest differences between The Sims 2 and The Sims 3?
A: In The Sims 3, life is truly what you make it. You’ll be inspired by the endless creative possibilities and
unexpected moments of surprise and mischief! You can customize your Sims’ appearances and choose
up to five traits to create individual personalities. From the “Romantic” trait or “kleptomaniac” trait to “evil”
trait, create millions of unique Sims from the vast amount of personalities. New game play enables you to
choose which short or long-term objectives you want your Sims to pursue and even determine your
Sims’ destinies in life. You can create and edit your own movies by capturing your gameplay moments
or select from a library of clips. We really focused a lot of efforts on the online community aspects of the
game and you’ll be able to share like never before. Once you join The Sims 3 online community, you
can show off your creations from Sims and houses to objects and movies, and download exclusive
content from (www.TheSims3.com).


Q: What is The Sims 3 plan regarding DRM/Copy Protection/Anti-Piracy?
A: We are listening to The Sims community and we hear their concerns. We will be discussing our copy
protection technology plans in the future.

Q: What have you learned from the Spore DRM issues?
A: We do not comment on the business practices of other Labels within EA.

Q: Do you need internet access to experience 100% of The Sims 3?
A: No. Players will be able to experience the game in its entirety. (Having online connections does
enhance gameplay with free downloads and the opportunity to show off and use the creations of other
players.)

Q: Is Will Wright still involved with The Sims?
A: Will is focused on other projects within EA, but as the founding father of The Sims he continues to be
enthusiastic supporter of the work we are doing.

Q: Is Maxis connected to The Sims?
A: The Maxis team works on Spore. The Sims 3 is in development within The Sims Studio under the EA
    Play Label.

Q: Would you compare The Sims to Second Life?
A: No. The Sims is unique in that it encourages self-expression through creativity, humor and a sense of
    community and you can have a full game experience offline if you choose. The Sims has a proven
    track record, due to its best-selling position in the market and is loved by fans around the world.

Q: What are the minimum hardware requirements for The Sims?

             Anecdote: It’s thrilling to realize how The Sims brand resonates with people of all ages.
              I recently hosted special group of girls to our studio. They were excited to meet the
              people who make The Sims 2 because they love the games. I was amazed that these
              girls were such passionate and articulate gamers as they talked about the characters
              and stories they had each created. This would not have happened 10 years ago!

   The vibrant and active online community is a testament to the games greatness. With more than
    4.3 million unique visitors each month and more than 70 million customized creations
    downloaded at TheSims2.com, The Sims community online is one of the most active and
    creative in the interactive entertainment space.

   A secret of The Sims long-time success is that the game is made when it leaves the store shelf.
             The Sims is designed to be a game of creativity and self expression. It is in a unique
              place in the video game industry because the player can control, build and tell stories --
              using individual expression through the game as a platform.
             So the game is really in the hands of the player. This makes for explorative, many
              times humorous, open-ended gameplay.

   A place to discover player creativity from The Sims is YouTube. With more than 100,000 Sims
    movies shared on YouTube and 200 million views – all created with The Sims 2 it is incredible!
        o Machinima is a new art form that uses computer-generated imagery (from The Sims most
            times) or gameplay footage to bring music, poetry or other performance art forms to life
            through.
        o The Sims has partnered with leading artists like Natasha Bedingfield, Lily Allen, Depeche
            Mode and many others to create music videos using gameplay from The Sims

   The Sims has partnered with leading brand names like Ford and H&M to bring premium brand
    content to its players. To provide in-game content for players that brings respected brand names
    into The Sims experience, H&M and Ford have partnered with The Sims
         o There are selections of Ford cars that can be downloaded by players of The Sims,
            including the Ford Mustang. This car has been so popular that it has been downloaded
            more than 1 million times, making The Sims the largest single Ford Mustang Dealership
            in the world. Nearly 2.5 million Ford car downloads to date!
         o The Sims has gone into the world of fashion through a partnership with H&M and Yahoo!
            Which generated over 500 million impressions. The Sims fashionistas had the
            opportunity for one of their apparel designs to be produced and made available in H&M
            retail stores worldwide. To make this a reality, The Sims held seven weekly online
            fashion shows broadcast by Yahoo! to showcase a collection of submitted designs.
             Viewers then voted for their favorite outfit, which will soon be in H&M stores.

   The Sims inspires art of all kinds...in the game and in real life.
       o In 2007, The Sims reached out to young artists by teaming up with three prestigious art
           and design schools, Parsons The New School for Design in New York, Academy of Art
           University in San Francisco and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles to
           produce art exhibitions based on The Sims. This program was called, “The Sims: In the
           Hands of Artists.” The young artists created a range of media, including machinima,
           paintings, illustrations, sculptural work, fashion designs, cinematography, and interactive
           displays – all that were inspired by The Sims.

   Simlish, the universal language of The Sims was created exclusively for the franchise as an
    international vocabulary of emotion.
         o There is no other language like Simlish which is created out of a mix of Ukrainian, Navajo
             and free-form improvisational exercises to develop the unique Simlish. The language,

               which is shared around the world, is about 80% intuition and improvisation and 20%
               unwritten dictionary.

      The Sims encourages young people – especially girls – to explore computer science as a
       development tool and as a career option. The Alice program, in partnership with Carnegie
       Mellon University, provides an innovative programming environment that makes it easy to create
       an animation for telling a story, planning an interactive game or a video to share on the Web. It is
