The 4 round draw of the England Hockey National Cup saw Team Bath Buccaneers under
18 boys host Ottery Crickets on Sunday. Buccs made an immediate impact with attacking
                                                               th
play, culminating in an early goal by Bradley Anderson in the 4 minute in open play.

After some skilful midfield play by Eugene Malthouse, Harry While and Tom Armston-Clarke,
a short corner was won, resulting in a penalty flick being awarded to the Buccaneers, which
Andy Machin calmly put away. However, in a momentary loss of concentration less than three
minutes later, Buccs allowed Ottery Crickets back into the match with a goal from a short
corner.

Buccaneers quickly regained focus and put another goal past the capable Ottery Crickets
keeper with a drag flick from Machin, completing his two goal debut. Bath then managed to
put another goal past Ottery Crickets before half time, this time fired in by Harry While, to
finish the first half 4-1 up. After a half time briefing from coach Ian Cordwell, standing in for
Phil Ball, Bath continued their scoring streak with Danny Wills starting and finishing his hat-
trick in less than ten minutes. Ottery Crickets continued the pressure on the gallant Buccs
defence of Ultan Watson, Stevie Medlock and George Gillingham, which eventually ended in
their second goal, scored by Charles Oxenham from a short corner. The unforgiving Brad
Anderson scored his second goal of the game after good build up of play by Andy Machin and
Will Matthews. Bradley would have also left the game with a hat-trick had his third goal not
been disallowed for coming from outside the D.

Bath Buccs then had a period of play with only ten men after Tom Armston-Clarke was yellow
carded for a poorly timed challenge. In the final ten minutes Will Matthews put two goals past
a somewhat dejected Ottery Crickets after having numerous chances throughout the game. .

There was no stormy weather as predicted but a stormy ride for Ottery Crickets as they left
Bath with a 10-2 defeat.

The Buccs boys are now down to the last 8 clubs in the competition and go through to the
                       th
quarter-finals on the 6 April. Team Bath Buccaneers will play Beeston (Nottingham) away on
April 6th in the QF's
