How can I access MP/Eyes Pro DVR from a remote location using Internet Explorer/ Remote Manager? a) If you are trying to access MP/Eyes Pro DVR from the external network (WAN, Internet), using Internet Explorer, please do the following: 1) Launch the DVR application and go to System Configuration -> Networking to open the Networking Setting window. 2) Under Transmitting Cameras in Networking Setting window, click on the camera number that you want to make it accessible via Internet using WebCam and Remote Manager. 3) Click on “Enable WebCam server” and “Enable RemoteView server via TCP/IP”, and then click on Update to save your settings. 4) Go to User Information. You can add a user or update an existing user for remote viewing login. *To add a user, enter all the information, and then click on Add button. 5) Under Remote Visible Cameras in User Information window, click on the camera number to allow the user to access DVR from a remote location. 6) On the Main AP window, click on the Load Network Server button to enable remote system access. 7) If the DVR is connecting to the Router, you will need setup Port Forwarding in the Router Configuration. The default port numbers for MP 3000/5000/ Eyes Pro DVR software (version 4.7.0041) are 9090, 9091 and 80. 8) Launch Internet Explorer, go to Tools> Internet Options. 9) Click on Security tab, and then select Custom Level… 10) Go to ActiveX controls and plug-ins section, select Prompt in “Download unsigned ActiveX controls” and “Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe” 11) Type in the DVR IP address in the address field of Internet Explorer. It will require you to download the ActiveX for WebCam. Right Click on it, then select “Install ActiveX Control…” 12) It will pop up a Internet Explorer – Security Warning window, click on Install 13) Type in User ID, Password and select the Network Type. b) If you are trying to access MP/Eyes Pro DVR from the local area network using Remote Manager, please do the following: 1) Follow step 1 – 7 above 2) Check the version of DVR application first; you will need to get the same version of Remote Manager on the client machine. To check the version, press Ctrl + Alt + V on the keyboard. The latest version is 4.7.0041 3) Launch the Remote Manager, Type in the User ID and password. (the default User ID is Root, no password) 4) Click on Center Management button, then click on Add button to add a DVR server 5) Type in the IP address and the corresponding port number from the Network Setting on the DVR application, and then click on OK 6) Type in the UserID and Password given by the DVR server 7) On Remote Manager, click on the Setup, then click on Camera Setup 8) Select the Server Name and the Camera Name, and then check on the “Display” and “Record”.
