Rev up those credit cards. Between the mega malls, unique boutiques
and shops specializing in one-of-a-kind buys, Glendale’s shopping
destinations have a way of turning a day out on the town into a full-
blown mission. Historic Downtown Glendale, Zanjero, Westgate and
Arrowhead—the finds in these amazing (and in some cases renowned)
retail destinations will only whet your appetite for more.
Historic Downtown Glendale has been named by USA Today and
Sunset Magazine as one of the country’s 10 best places for shopping,
and savvy shoppers will find a medley of imports, jewelry, art, crafts,
collectibles, and bath and body accessories. In fact, Historic Downtown
Glendale is actually three neighborhoods - Historic Catlin Court with
its white picket fences and mature shade trees welcoming visitors to
the bungalows-turned-specialty shops, and Old Towne, boasting brick-
trimmed sidewalks and glowing gaslights leading the way to the famous
stores. And, the newest addition, located in the center of Downtown,
Promenade at Palmaire which features the Glendale Visitor Center, a
parking structure with free covered parking and a growing lineup of
shops and eateries. You’ll find every store will deliver on your desires,
so plan your route accordingly; you won’t want to miss anything. These
shopping districts span 10 square blocks, which can easily be strolled
in an afternoon.
Shoppers can also delight at one of the largest malls in the region – the
beautifully designed Arrowhead Towne Center. Conveniently located just
off the Loop 101 freeway, the mall features water fountains, a movie
theater and more than 170 shops and restaurants. The Arrowhead
Entertainment District and Glendale’s Northern Shopping Corridor
including The Citadelle Plaza offers boutique clothing shops, wine shops
and nightclubs and an enviable collection of rave restaurants.
The Westgate City Center Sports and Entertainment District, located at
Glendale Avenue and Loop 101, redefines Glendale dining and nightlife.
Often labeled the Times Square of the desert, visitors will enjoy an array
of shops and restaurants. The outdoor enthusiast won’t want to miss
Cabela’s – the world’s foremost outfitter, located near the University of
Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. In addition to offering quality outdoor
merchandise, the 160,000-square-foot showroom is an educational and
entertainment attraction, featuring a décor of museum-quality animal
displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-
creations of their natural habitats.

Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox Spring Training came alive in Glendale
in 2009 as the city unveiled the newest and biggest Spring Training home to join
professional baseball. Located just across the Loop 101 from Glendale’s Sports and
Entertainment District, this baseball facility boasts a 10,000-seat stadium, with 3,000
lawn seats, 118,000 square feet of major and minor league clubhouse space, four major
league practice fields and eight minor league practice fields. This takes peanuts and
Crackerjacks to a whole new level.
SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT
www.glendalesgotgame.com
University of Phoenix Stadium
www.universityofphoenixstadium.com
Alien technology, state-of-the-art architecture, call it what you want,
but our stadium, home to the Arizona Cardinals, is the coolest national
sports facility around. A perfect marriage of liquid and steel, this one-
of-a-kind sporting facility is the first on the continent to feature both
a retractable roof and retractable playing field. Designed by world-
renowned architect Peter Eisenman to mimic the sections of the native
barrel cactus, the stadium fits together like a pleasing Sonoran puzzle
and showers the interior with the perfect dose of natural light.
Public tours are available of this architectural wonder. A Super
Bowl in 2008, the Fiesta Bowl as well as a BCS Championship and
Wrestlemania XXVI, this stadium is turning heads from all corners of the
earth, and roaring fans and growling linemen will echo in the desert for
generations.
Jobing.com Arena
www.jobingarena.com
Not many venues can be all things to all people, but the award-winning
Jobing.com Arena is a bold exception to that type of thinking. Born Dec.
27, 2003, to a howling house of rabid Coyotes hockey fans, the Arena
has been heralded by headline performers like U2, Bruce Springsteen
and Paul McCartney and named best new major concert venue by
Pollstar magazine, a major concert industry publication.
Showcasing state-of-the-art video technology, a pulsating sound system
and seating arrangements that guarantee clear views from all points, the
facility has been an ideal host for everything from intimate, rare acoustic
performances to chart-topping, televised concert extravaganzas. And to
top things off, it also just happens to be home to the NHL Coyotes.
Driving Directions to the Sports & Entertainment District
